Sampled at Delilah's 2009 Lambic Tasting. Thanks Eric for bringing these out!! Review is from notes, combined a couple pours, maybe 6 oz total.
2003 vintage GABF handbottle from the brewer's personal stash, listed on the program as "Bull & Bush Mighty Kriek". It was described as a winter warmer/imperial brown base (Yule Fuel) with sour cherries and Brettanomyces, aged in a Pappy bourbon barrel.
There was a 1/4" of tan latte foam across the top that lasted for a good 5+ minutes, and settled into a sticky, clinging ring. The color was a murky, opaque mahoghany brown.
Intense nose of balsamic, cherry vinegar, rain-soaked herb garden, and maybe rhubarb. Sweet bourbon and molasses underneath. Toffee/molasses flavors, big balsamic presence, sour cherries, and strangely some celeryish rhubarb. Rich and full bodied, slick and tart, very savory. Residual stickiness on the lips. It starts out juicy from the cherry, then dries out with some oak elements.
This reminded me of Earthmonk & Cuvee de Tomme, some good company to be in.
