nice malty red amber. pours a glowing redorange color with a very small head. smells balanced but with some sturdy english red malts in control. flavor is more delicate than the nose, also a touch of spice in this one, maybe from the hops. i also tried this beer in the hop inciter with fresh nugget hops. it have the beer a nice piney bitterness that it lacked before. they might try dryhopping this beer in a similar fashion permanently, as i thought it added another dimension. mouthfeel was a little flatter than i wanted it to be, with a medium body and a little sweetness in the finish. overall a good beer, could stand some more carbonation, but a solid amber all around.

I had this one on tap the other night at the brewery. This one was rather boring overall, and really not that memorable. Poured a nice amber color with a small white head. Aromas of caramel, sweet malt and the barest hint of hops. On the palate, this one was sweet and medium bodied, with caramel and sweet malt.

"It's all good". Getting the weekend of Great American Beer Festival started at the Bull & Bush with many mouthfulls of Colorado beer. On-tap at the source itself, on to the beer:

The amber color matches the style it's trying to be, perhaps with some orange mixed in as well. Straightforward fruitiness in the aroma, but the taste offers more flavors. Sure, it has a fruity taste like the aroma, but mix in some biscuit notes, a decent hoppiness, and green tea notes and what you have here a beer that is respectable. With a lighter medium body that doesn't take much effort to knock back, you can say that this is "allgood".

Reviewed bottle data - BTL:6/18/14 with Little Bear Peak 14,037' beneath the bottle cap.

Honey hued body with a thick, foamy, white head; lots of clinging suds left on the glass. Toasted grain aroma. Toasted grain and mildly charred sugars highlight the flavors; honey; slightly tart and acidic with a nice hop bitterness undertone. Medium body; crisp and clean with a dry finish.

Another fine tasting, well-balanced ale from the Bull & Bush brewery.

I guess most people don't go for "boring" ambers any more, because that's the only reason I can think of for why this beer is rated as low as it is. You will enjoy this one all night - a friend called it "happiness in a glass" the first time he tried it.
