I went here yesterday for the first time. It turned out to be a great place to escape the inlaws who are in town this week.
Driving up, it looks like has been air-lifted from england. It has a very traditional tudor style and a big shady patio area.
It's near 100 degrees out so I opt for the indoor bar for lunch and a couple of beers. Fairly dark inside with just enough light to make it not feel opressive. There's a long copper-clad bar with big sturdy chairs. The whole place feels 19th century but I see that they will be celebrating their 37th anniversary next month.
Service at the bar was very propt and friendly. I selected the belgian dark ale called Gargamel, looked over the menu, and ordered a reuben with fries. It came out freakishly fast and was excellent. I'm as much a connoisseur of reubens as I am of beer and this one was the best I've had in Colorado. Reasonably priced too at $7.95.
The beers were great too. I followed the belgian with their famous Man Beer and was very impressed.
They also had a vintage beer menu which included Avery's imperial range, some belgians, and of course Hardys' all dating back into the 1990s. Very cool but a bit expensive for my taste.
Overall, Bull and Bush is a great place for a pint and a sandwich. There really should be more like this... but then it wouldn't be as special.
