I had a few beers here with my Dad while on vacation. The atmosphere inside is very divey. Shaky chairs, old bar, carpet that is older than me, and probably has not been clean in that same amount of time. To say the bar area is dark is an under statement. I can barely see my hand in front of my face. The patio outside is great though.
The service is nondescript. Give them your order, and they bring beer. Nothing to complicated, I did not have food, but seems pretty much pub grub.
The house beer selection goes from pils to stout. The ESB I had was below average at best, tasted like nail polish and vinegar, as was the pils. A decent amber ale, and I enjoyed the brown. I originally thought they had cask beers because some of the tap handles looked like a hand pull. Though that was not the case. A bit disappointing for me. An extensive selection of aged bottles to choose from as well. JW Lees, Drie Fonteinen, that sort of thing. All at premium cost, but the draughts are all reasonable.
Overall a laid back divey place. The house beers are not bad, just not great. Not something I would go out of my way for, especially in this town. Though a very nice relaxing time spent with Pops, and I can't beat that.

The interior atmosphere (and exterior) of the Bull & Bush are something that will remain with you long after your visit. If you'd prefer more sunlight, there is also covered outdoors patio seating w/ table service as well. What a great building and patrons for some memorable times imbibing with friends.
Always a solid selection of brews, with a range from OK to excellent.
A little something for everyone. When I come here we are typicaly meeting friends for a meal and I've always been happy with their food also but the bigger meals can get a bit more pricy. The new kitchen did not change the interior at all, so I assume the back of the house is running smoother now that the remodel is finished.
Bull & Bush is a Denver landmark restaurant & brewery. You don't stay around for 43 years by not doing many different things right.

Great building, and very comfy decor. Plenty of indoor tables, as well as an outdoor patio with a jumbo screen that was plenty warm in December. A comfy set of couches inside as well. Quality seemed pretty good, a few rough edges, dirty silverware and other small things, but not enough to seriously ding it. Service was great, waiter stopped by several times, well spaced to make sure everything was ok, but not too much to feel rushed in any way. Selection of beer was lacking when I went. They only had 2 tap lines, and 3 of their beers in bottle, but this was explained as a ongoing overhaul to establish 42 taps. Food was varied, but beer a bit thin for what I would expect a brewpub that bottles to carry. Food was great, reasonably priced, quick to arrive, and no real issues. Definitely brewpub-esque food. Overall, a good place I'd love to try again when they had their other taps running.
