Vanilla stout that starts off by combining our favorite dark and roasty malts and then aging with vanilla beans in the tank. Medium body with hints of coffee and caramel with a subtle vanilla finish. Named after an old homebrewer friend, Adam’s Stout is great for sipping anytime.

Appearance: Pours a translucent fudge brown color and a hard pour builds only half an inch of foam; nice, spotty lacing, though
Smell: Light roast, chocolate, coffee and vanilla
Taste: Light roast and chocolate, up front, with coffee tones developing; a touch acrid, after the swallow with a hint of vanilla appearing, in the finish
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with low to moderate carbonation
Overall: Despite some of the previous rating disappointments, I rather enjoyed this beer; a nice one for watching March Madness
Thanks, BerBen, for the opportunity

Not one of the better stouts I've had. There was only a thin layer of foam that disappeared almost instantly, with zero lacing, and then almost no carbonation from that point on. Smelled like roasted coffee and vanilla beans, so it seemed pleasant. The taste was artificial-esque and too sweet, and not much coffee coming through, just a vague charred flavor and vanilla candy. The feel was syrupy and sticky. Between the syrupy feel, the sweetness, and the lack of carbonation, it was a lot like a flat vanilla Coke someone spilled some coffee in. I think if it was just more carbonated it wouldn't feel so heavy and cloying (ironic considering all the older reviews say it's too carbonated, maybe the brewery overcompensated?).

Had a can less than a month from when it was canned. The beer was completely flat and tasted of cardboard. Local friends say its better, so hopefully just a canning issue.

Looks great, very dark, moderately thick. Too much vanilla, nothing subtle about it. It is as advertised. Just not to my taste.
