Received a four pack of cans from a co-worker who generously hooked me up with some beers from this brewery. In addition to this four pack I received a growler of Low Tide Black IPA and a bomber of Cold North Wind aged for three month in apple brandy barrels.
No best by or canned date.
A: Pours a translucent, golden straw color with a loose bone white head that disappears without sticking to the glass. It's not crystal clear. Some active carbonation. 3
S: I cracked open the can and got a bright burst of citrus fruit forward hops, but that has died off pretty quickly. I'm still getting just a touch of grapefruit. Upon pouring into the glass I get a relatively muted nose. Raw malt, barely noticeable citrus hops I would also describe as grapefruit, as well as plum and grapes. 2.75
T: Theres not much to this beer. Watered down grapefruit juice flavor, with a a hint of bitterness on the finish. A touch of light bready malt that is quickly whisked away by a mild bitterness. 2.75
M: Quite thin with low carbonation. 3
D: This beer is not undrinkable, but it's below average and just OK. I've had session IPA's with more enjoyable and robust malt and hop profiles. I'd love to know the canning date. I'm not suggesting this is old because I've never had the beer before and cannot compare, but if it's fresh, it's really missing something. I've got three more cans that I'll probably hold on to for after some yard work next weekend, but I would not go out of my way to purchase this beer. Far from a must have. 2.75

I definitely got sucked in on the marketing on this one. calling a new ipa "shiznit" and tagging trillium and heady and tree house and others of that ilk in social media posts referencing the release of this beer had me excited. could it be? some more great northeast ipas coming out of PJ? well hotdog, count me in...I want a glass of that shiznit!!!!
a friend snagged me some cans at the release and I was excited, then I started hearing some rumblings that it was no good...naturally had to see for myself (tickers gonna tick).
from the pour to the glass I could tell I was not in store for a thick hazy ipa...but this isnt even meh. it's like lager flavored vitamin water. very grainy...hard to believe they are calling this an ipa. glad I only snagged 2 cans. I have a buddy who will appreciate the tick so he can have my other can. skip this one. it isn't bad, but it is hardly mediocre.
