Had at Thirsty Monk Asheville Biltmore Park. Served in a pint glass.
A- Pours a murky opaque medium brown color with a 1/4 inch tan head that retains a bit before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a mostly full sheet of sheer surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a thick ring behind.
S- Big coffee on the nose with some milk chocolate in there as well.
T- Follows the nose closely with more coffee and chocolate. Not really getting any coconut, just some dark roast and the like. Flavor is strong initially but quickly turns tame. Strange aftertaste I can't put my finger on.
M- Thick and slick, almost creamy with medium carbonation and a full body.
O- Starts out nice but becomes a bit one-dimensional as things wear on. Also smells better than it tastes. Plus the lack of coconut is disappointing.
Serving type: on-tap
