A bit sweet with some citrus hints. Entirely delicious. I could drink this refreshing IPA all day long. NoDa has the best beers in Charlotte by far, so if you are in Charlotte, be sure to swing by NoDa brew! Hop drop also comes in pint cans, so you can bring some home to enjoy, which I did, of course!

Poured into a DFH tulip from a pint can that was canned 5-5-14

I'm looking forward to this and hope that it lives up to the hype! Thanks, Mark!

A - Hazy, golden amber in color with a minimal amount of carbonation showing. Sticky lacing that leaves a splotchiness on the side of the glass above the 1/4" head and ring that is left behind after the pour.

S - Big, citrus nose predominately a large dose of grapefruit (rind). Resin with pine, on the back end with loads of hop pellets and hints of malt. Beer may be too cold to get all it has to offer, but it has a wonderful aroma nonetheless.

T - Bitter hops and pine up front followed by a bitterness/flavors of grapefruit, orange peel, and lemon zest. Gives off a sweet malt profile that is pleasant.

M - Medium-bodied with a viscous feel. Frothy and creamy that leaves an oily presence on the palate that turns dry (odd right?). A perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness!

O - I'd have to say that this lives up to the hype. I mean it has it's own characteristics and it doesn't try to mimics a lot of other IPA's. A solid offering that I would keep around the house if I lived by the brewery. Heck of a beer!

Reviewing Hop, Drop 'N Roll from NoDa Brewing Company out of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Score: 95

16 oz can served in a Mikkeller & Friends stemmed taster and enjoyed on 05/21/14. Review is from iPhone notes.

Appearance: Pours a golden amber color with three fingers of foamy sea-foam head that slowly recedes to a thin layer. Okay lacing, solid retention and good cling. 4/5

Smell: Primarily grapefruit and piney hops. Nice fruitiness and grassy character. 4.5/5

Taste: Resinous pine, grapefruit, lemon and a little spice. A light dose of sweet caramel malt as well. 4.5/5

Mouthfeel: Light plus bodied, appropriate carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Nice bitter bite. 4.5/5

Overall: An IPA lover's IPA. With a good bitter bite and tons of pine and grapefruit, this is everything you want in your hoppy beers.

Cost: $11.99 for a four pack of 16 oz cans.
