On tap at World of Beer Raleigh. Served in a pint glass.

A - bright, hazy yellow with a thin, white head that had good retention

S - heavy herbal hop aroma, spicy, peppery

T - spicy, herbal hops up front followed by a heavy wheat characteristic; faint pepper and lemon throughout; solid bitter hop finish that lingers on the palate

M - medium bodied, smooth, well carbonated

This is a nice take on the craze that is the White IPA. It starts with a tremendous Witbier body and flavor, but then is bombarded with hops. The hop character was chosen nicely to complement the Belgian yeast and the lighter Witbier body. Everything here is refreshing and balanced. This is definitely worth a try.

Had while hanging out at the brewery and talking about BMW M-cars… Todd, the owner, loves them by the way. Served from tap into a NoDa shaker. Poured a hazy straw yellow with a one finger white head that subsided to a minimal amount slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, banana, spices, wheat, and fruit hop. The flavor was of sweet malt, banana, spices, wheat, fruit hop, earth, and earthy hop. It had a light feel on the palate with medium carbonation. Overall this was a fairly good brew. The flavor on this one was very nice and definitely had quite a bit going on. There was a lot of different hop varieties going on that I picked up on, but they all worked really well together. The aroma was a little bit of a letdown as compared to the flavor as there wasn’t as much going on. If the aroma would have been a little more complex, this could have been a fairly high level brew for the style. Definitely worth trying if you see it on tap around.

Tap at Macs SC. A really hazy yellow pour. Maybe a finger of white head. Sticks to the glass a bit.

Aroma, pretty non-descript, malt and clove. A light mustiness. Hmmm.

Taste, a large difference from the aroma. A bready malt, some bannana and sweeter spice. Quickly the hops mellow the sweet yeastiness. Citrus, herbal, pine. Biscuit makes a faint appearance in the finish along with a well managed bitter.

Light bodied but a wheaty nature makes this quite coating at the same time. This drinks very easy and comes off very refreshing.

Really liked this, one of the more refreshing brews I've had in a long time. Very well constructed, not a bannana clove bomb like many.

A hop lovers white IPA. Hops on the nose and a very hoppy bitter taste. The Belgian influence is definitely present. Finished very dry. Very refreshing.

On cask at City Beverage

Appearance: The straw colored liquid presents just a few bubbles on top; not surprising for a cask conditioned ale

Smell: Coriander and pith dominate the aroma

Taste: Coriander forward, with lemon pith and a hint of aspirin developing by mid-palate; nicely balanced, after the swallow

Mouthfeel: Medium body with low carbonation

Overall: Noda has done a very nice job with this trendy new beer style; they have produced a nicely balance between the wit spices and the IPA hops

just had this at the brewery on cask and regular draft. regular draft rates to me higher than this rating which is for the cask. both pours in a standard pint glass side by side.

in both pours not much aroma but there is some to be described.

for the cask pine and sweet malt nose. excellent clarity and nearly 2 inches of head (cask!) dried out medium mouth-feel. fuller feel than the draft.
malt sweetness followed by a piny heavy resin that comes quick.

the draft was more balanced with less drying out mouth-feel. sweet then light dryness more light to medium body than the medium body cask. less head and again excellent clarity for the draft. would rather have the draft than the cask.

I recommend but it's not something you need to run and and get (cask or draft).
Good session beer at just below 6%.
