On tap at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, CA.
Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, earth, and caramel aromas. Taste is much the same with malt, caramel, and fruit flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is pretty good beer with a nice fruity flavor that I am not getting in the smell.
Serving type: on tap.

A: Pleasant yellowish amber color with average foam, some lacing
S: I got an interesting combination of aromas on this beer - sweet with floral and a hint of grass or leaves.
T: As the smell suggested, when I tasted this beer the first thing I said was "This tastes like a garden!" I meant this in a good way; sweet malts mixed with some mild bready tastes perhaps a hint of citrus.
M: Medium bodied, smooth.
O: This was an interesting beer - the first I've had in this style; I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for more. I bet this beer is awesome on a hot summer day.

On Tap
Taps Fish House & Brewery
Brea, CA
A dark copper and auburn. Thin white head. Not much lacing down the glass.
Caramel and bready malts. Simple.
Similar to the aroma. A drinkable and simple beer dominated by bready and caramel malts. Slight bitterness.
Clean, refreshing, medium bodied, highly drinkable. Will not get in the way of and pairs well with food.
A simple, bready beer with a hint of sweet malt and caramel flavors. All in all, very simple and highly drinkable. Good banquet beer.

404th review on BA
Draft
App- Slightly highlighted copper with some shimmery highlights. 1/2 in of head on it.
Smell- I picked up a little faint almond in there with a little more spice. Not too much but still smelled good
Taste- This was a tad sweet to me for the style but was still very tasty. Was a nice drink after a hefe and a cask IPA. A little balanced spice as well.
Mouth- Was on the medium/medium side and left a little sweetness afterwards.
Drink- Overall a pretty taste little beer. The flavors werent too sweet or too malty.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ,
A: Pours a deep amber with a firm white head, good retention and lacing.
S: Farmhouse, light funk, hay, sweet malt.
T: Sweet amber malt, with a lot of ethanol, the alcohol takes over the beer for me. Nice secondary flavours though.
M: Smooth, medium-bodied, boozy.
D: A nice stab at the style. The ethanol/solvent character makes this a sipper at best; a shame since Biere de Garde is one of the most drinkable styles around.

On-tap at Taps in Brea
A: The pour is amber/copper in color with a thin ring of white foam.
S: The nose is somewhat on the light side with some sweet caramel and bready malts. There's also a nice toast bready aroma to it.
T: The beer is caramelly and sweet with that usual bready malt flavor. Some light baking spices, like cinnamon, as well. Unfortunately, there's a very noticeable alcohol presence.
M: The body is on the full side with a moderate level of carbonation and a bit of warmth.
D: I liked some of the flavors and aromas in the beer, but it was unfortunately, the alcohol presence ruined the experience for me.

I used to live by Taps and would occasionally drop by to sample the cask and other beers. I was never really impressed.
I stopped by last week to meet some friends, drink and smoke some cigars on the patio. I rolled up five minutes before happy hour ended so I made a quick decision on a pitcher of beer - Bier De Garde.
Copper pour with a beautiful foamy head and decent lacing. Wonderfully malty with a very light hop. Almost too sweet but not quite. It was great on a hot summer night.
All and all, Taps redeemed themselves that night. I finished the whole pitcher and at $14, it was a great buy.

Poured a very cloudy dark gold, with a thin white head that dissipated quickly. Smell was banana nut, plain and simple. Taste had a little alcohol up front, finished with strong banana nut flavor....actually seemed one dimensional in that respect. Was definitely unfiltered and the yeast gave off quite a bit of character in this brew, but it leaned heavily toward banana and not much else.
