Not bad. Not bad like watching jeopardy on a Friday night; you know that you would rather be out and doin' it, but Alex is ok for what it is. Good, and a bit bland. Bland, and a bit good.

Raul wishes that he could describe this more, but this is what it is.

On tap at TAPS Fish House & Brewery in Corona, CA.

Pours a clear dark orange with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, and slight caramel aromas. Taste is much the same with malt and caramel flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is easy to drink but nothing really stands out to me.

On tap at Taps in Brea.

A: Dark copper with a short lived beige head.

S: Toasted bread with notes of caramel and biscuit. Toffee is very light. I don't get any hop character. The nose is clean.

T: Bread and earthy hops with a touch of toffee and caramel. Light toasted bread sweetness. Clean finish with no alcohol.

M: Medium in body with upper moderate carbonation.

Overall: One of the better Taps beers I've had. Recommended.

On-tap at Taps Brea

A: The pour is a dark amber color with a couple fingers of creamy, khaki colored head.

S: Nice aroma of toasted bread, toffee, and light caramel. There is definitely some lager yeast in there and a touch of earthiness I would assume comes from the hops. Perhaps a light floral note as well.

T: More of the same as I take a drink. Nice toasted malt flavor with a really substantial breadiness. Moderately sweet with some toffee. There is a subtle earthiness to the beer and some yeastiness. A very mild bitterness.

M: Medium in body with a nice crisp carbonation.

O: Quite refreshing and rather pleasant to drink. One of the better Taps beers I can recall having. Solid stuff.

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ,

A: Pours amber/copper with a soft white head, some lace.

S: Direct Munich-style dunkel malt, nice sweet nose.

T: Tasty sweet malt, nice hop backing, not overhopped. Good balanced, very nice tasting lager.

M: Soft, crisp carbonation, light-bodied, smooth.

D: Probably should be called a Vienna Lager, because that's what it is. Surprisingly good, like a cleaner Negra Modelo.

"brewed by Austrian brewers who immigrated to Mexico during the 19th century" is how this Lager is described.

The beer poured dark brown but with pretty good clarity. A fluffy white head sat atop for only a minute. Has a moderately light mouthfeel with mild carbonation. The taste was pretty malty. Malt and alcohol, in typical lager fashion, but with a toasty character to it. I guess a good malty light beer if you're in the mood for it.
