A: White head that floats on top of a clear copper body. As the level lowers some pretty fantastic lace is left on my glass. The color is warm amber, almost glowing.
S: A big dose of piney and resinous hops, some citrus. This is one great smelling IPA!! I’m not disappointed!
T: A bit of maltiness, backed up by those piney hops. Rather bitter and slightly grassy on the back end but floral. The aftertaste leaves some of the bitterness behind, with fond memories of the hops that just pervaded my palate. It’s really good!
M: Moderate thickness and carbonation, no complaints here.
O: This is a fantastic IPA! Very well done and balanced, after the first pint it made it into my top 5. Definitely worth a try.

Poured from a 12 oz brown bottle into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint glass. Bottled on 02/27/14 on bottleneck. Single purchased at Total Wine (Norwalk, CT) for $1.99.
A: Hazy gold amber with 1-2 fingers of oatmeal colored frothy head with good retention and a nice collar of lacing.
S: Nice Columbus aroma with some pine resin and lemon-orange citrus. Medium strong caramel aroma.
T: Flavor is solid to excellent with a big blast of pine resin and orange-tangerine citrus layered on a medium crystal malt backbone. Has big Columbus character like in the aroma and avoids tasting "weedy" like many Columbus-heavy IPA's. Pretty standard American IPA, but well-executed. No yeast or alcohol character noted.
M: Slick with medium carbonation and body, drinkable with a dry finish.
O: I really enjoyed this IPA, did not have a comparable high-quality IPA to compare to side by side. It compares very favorably to DC Brau The Corruption which unfortunately crosses over into that weedy Columbus category. Nice job on this one by Slumbrew. I wonder how this would taste with a lighter crystal maltbill.

Draught @ Noho Brewfest: This one pours a fairly clear, darker golden color. There was a good, dense off white head on it. There was a BIG pine hop nose. The taste was good. It wasn’t as bitter as the nose would make you think, but still has a good bite to it. Some malts in the background. Nice.
