Notes & Commercial Description:

Flagraiser IPA is a big, hoppy tribute to the unfurling of the Grand Union flag atop Prospect Hill in Somerville, MA on January 1, 1776. This ale celebrates our passion for hop aroma and flavor balanced with just the right amount of malt.

Huge aroma and resin-y flavors from the elusive Galaxy hops are the signature of this beer. Built on a solid base of pale malts, this double IPA makes generous use of hops from Columbus, Crystal and Galaxy with the Galaxy hops taking the lead during ten days of aggressive dry-hopping.

A: The beer is very hazy yellowish amber in color. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that faded away, leaving only delicate lacing covering the surface, a thin collar around the edge of the glass, and some lacing down the sides.
S: Moderate aromas of gooseberries are present in the nose.
T: Just like the smell, the taste has strong flavors of gooseberries along with slight bits of citrus. A light to moderate amount of bitterness is present.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer does a nice job of showcasing the aromas and flavors of the Galaxy hops. It's not a bad selection if you like gooseberries.

Slumbrew Flagraiser IPA has a very thick, off-white head, an opaque, bubbly, orange appearance, with many noticeable tan particles roiling about, and a very heavy lace curtain left on the glass. The aroma is of white bread, sweetness, and citrus, and the flavor is of those elements, with grapefruit and increasing bitterness as the sip settles out. Mouthfeel is medium and soft, and Slumbrew Flagraiser IPA finishes mostly dry, rather drinkable, and not the least bit alcohilic.
