Notes/Commercial Description:
An autumn brown ale with distinctive toasty flavors from an assortment of roasted malts and grains. As a seasonal, limited release beer, its nutty characteristics offer a great companion to colder climate cuisine. A bright hop finish from Cascade and Fuggles balance the toasted grain notes to create a new expression of autumn brown ales.

Brewed with Toasted Buckwheat, Maris Otter, Victory, Brown and Chocolate malts. Balanced with a bright hop finish from Fuggles and Cascade.

Lots of roast and very little else. Almost like a thin stout. Not my thing.

Served in a pint glass at the Union Brewhouse in Weymouth.

Appearance: A one finger off white brown head was poured that reduced to a thin layer. It is a dark brown color with no vision of anything. Spotty lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.

Smell: Nutty, toasted, roasted coffee, bitter chocolate, bready, and a little sweetness.

Taste: Same as above with some burnt flavors and bbitterness in the rear.

Mouthfeel: Smooth, a little bitterness, medium bodied, low carbonation, and a little chewy.

Overall: Spot on for the style. I like it a lot. Will be enjoying more of these in the future.

Near black color with just a touch of light on the extreme edge of the glass. Superb ring lace with a blanket of bubbles in between. Small but lasting head.

Lots of burnt black patent malt to the nose.

Blind folded, I would think stout here. Lots burnt toast up front. The swallow is slightly creamy. The aftertaste is similar to burnt toast. The body is below average, but the carbonation is low.

A: The beer is very dark brown in color—closer inspection reveals that it is clear dark red when held up to a bright light. It poured with a quarter finger high light brown head that died down, leaving patches of bubbles that covered nearly the entire surface and some lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of nutty malts are present in the nose.
T: Much like the smell, the overall taste is very nutty and also has some hints of roasted malts. No sweetness or toasted malt flavors are perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer has to be the nuttiest brown ale I ever tried. Although the nutty flavors are very dominant, there seem to be a variety of different malts used that lends complex flavors of different nuts and makes things interesting.
