A 500ml bottle with a BB of Dec 2013. Picked up a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. Described on the label as a golden session ale hopped with three varieties: Mosaic, Nugget and Simcoe.
Poured into a tulip pint glass. Bottle conditioned. A deep, hazy golden-amber hue with fine sediment and low carbonation. Yields a decent head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Aroma of sweet, fruity hops with hints of white grape, melon, mango, tropical fruit, citrus, faint caramel malt and earthy yeast. Very nice.
Tastes of fruity aromatic hops with a dry finish. Notes of grapefruit, citrus, white grape, tropical fruits, grass/hay, light caramel malt, earthy yeast and faint stewed hops. Highly attenuated, followed by a restrained bitterness upon swallowing. Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and very dry; hop oils fizzle on the tongue. Decent body, but low carbonation results in a lack of texture. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of fruity aromatic hops, mild stewed leaves and earthy yeast.
Pretty good - another hop-laden fruit bomb from Arbor. Looks OK, with a deliciously fruity aroma. The flavour is a shade less complex, with more yeast presence. Body is rather flat and lacklustre. Nonetheless, this has plenty of character and goes down all too easily. Worth a punt if you see it on the shelves.
