A Belgian Witbier brewed with pilsner malt, oats, bitter and sweet orange peel, coriander and chamomile flowers. This refreshing “white” beer is a perfect summer beer that starts out sweet and citrusy and finishes dry and crisp with a hint of tartness. The name is a tribute to the 1959 White Sox!

Served in a shaker pint glass at the tap room.
Gotta love a beer that commemorates the '59 Go-Go White Sox, eh? Especially a nice little wit brewed with chamomile... It pours a hazy golden straw topped by a finger (at best) of white foam. The nose comprises coriander, lemon zest, light wheat, and a touch of mild flowers (I'm assuming this would be the aforementioned chamomile). The taste brings in more of the same, though the flowers are now stronger, bitterer, and, somehow, also sweeter. It's strange to describe, really; all I can truly say is that although the flavors are indeed familiar, the combination is unlike any wit I've had before. In a mostly good way. The body straddles the line between heavy light and light medium, with a moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda dry finish. Overall, a nice, refreshing (whatever that really means...I just know it felt pretty good to drink this given the relative heat of the day...) wit. Good times.

16oz can. Poured out a slightly cloudy, straw-yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of wheat, crackers and spices. Sweet toasted caramel with a subtle coriander taste and hints of orange peel.

From a tall, wrapped can, this brew is a hazy light-gold color. Soapy head with decent lace. The taste has a nice wheat twang and some subtle fruit. Flavorful. Medium body and thirst quenching.

Taste: crisp, yeast, complex grainy notes, some malty semi sweet. yeast bread nose. Pale gold hue, slightly unfiltered, nice lattice in taster glass. Medium to med/light body. 19 IBUs. Had some years ago.

August 2015....brewery draft. Pours yellow colored. Bubbles and solid lid of white foam. Floral nose. Soft taste. Light citrus. Peppy bitter. Fast finish. Hoppy for a wit. Interesting.
