Pours a clear, gold color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Decent retention and great lacing. Smells of pale malt, slight earthy malt, slight wheat, hint of hop, and slight sweet malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Wheat Ale. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of pale malt, slight earthy malt, hint of pine, hint of resin, slight wheat, hint of hop, and slight sweet malt. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma, good body and blend.

One of the most underwhelming citra beers I have ever had. Also does not have the full taste and body of a typical american blonde. Overall pretty dang underwhelming.

12oz bottle from Justdoit1234 (thanks man!). No apparent bottling date. Served in my trusty Phish snifter.

Pours a hazy, pale orange with a finger and a half of white head. The froth settles to a thin veneer and a modest halo, leaving a few small patches of lace.

Smells somehow dry with light wheaty malt, yeast and vague, airy fruit. Not bad but here is nothing to prompt any additional sniffing.

As in the nose, flavors are vague and airy. Light, wheaty grains, mild vague pale fruit and a faint sweetness. No alcohol but not a whole lot of flavor either.

Light body with fairly active carbonation. Vague light malts and nondescript fruit in the finish.

I was hoping that Citra hops would make this more exciting for my palate but ultimately North Loop's Air is just another blonde ale. There is absolutely nothing overtly wrong but this was devoid of any character that I crave in a brew.

Well balanced good tasting beer that is easy to drink. If you only like hopped up beers and high alcohol content, this beer isn't for you.

I first tried this beer at Lucid's release event in 2011. I wasn't impressed then, but tastes change. How about now?

In short, my taste hasn't changed that much. It's extremely pale and fizzy. Smell like almost nothing, except maybe corn. Taste is slightly fruity, but largely forgettable. Goes down easily, even thoughtlessly. There's no finish to speak of. Is that what people mean when they say "clean"?

I don't know. What I do know is that this would probably be suitable for someone who wants to drink a lot of beers without getting palate fatigue or intoxication. That doesn't really describe me.

L: Pours brilliant straw gold under a very finely bubbled 1” white foam cap.
S: Light grains and very faint hops on the nose.
T: Light grains and fruit.
F: Smooth and crisp, medium light body and above average carbonation.
O: Refreshing, not assertive or over the top but very easy to drink especially on a warm day

Time for a pale wheat to go with my taco salad.

Appearance : A golden straw colored body, very very little haze. 95% transparent. The head initially pours 3 fingers but dwindles down to a single finger leaving layers of light lacing around the lip of the glass.

Aroma : Clean malts and very faint orange rind. Some oat, but mostly wheat aromas waft up. A weak bouquet overall that requires deep inhalation to analyze.

Taste : Nice explosion of freshly peeled orange right underneath a wheaty body. The orange rind continues throughout the taste, and it ends crispy, light, and arid. I can't stress enough how much this tastes like a freshly peeled orange including the rind. Very nice.

Mouthfeel : Appropriate for the style - very creamy with a certain shock from the carbonation, yet not too intense, and follows through to a semi-dry finish.

Overall : I think this is better than "okay". Its definitely craft-worthy, and although it isn't particularly amazing it is easy to drink and has lots of great natural orange flavors. Recommended.
