Named out of respect for our Brew Master’s family at Fire Station #11, this is a golden ale built with over 40 pounds of hops. The malt bill provides a balanced backbone and the big hop finish gives your mouth a pleasant bitterness and a nose full of herbal and citrus notes. It’s a real pallet cleansing experience.

Picked this up on my bi-annual beer run across border to Michigan.
Pleasantly surprised. And I'm trying to figure out why.
I was expecting the classic me-to IPA trying to get into the game and, instead, I get this almost-subtle IPA that appeals to even a malt-head like me.
A good-Looker, and a subtle Smeller... only in the after-Taste does this IPA go for the cheap-IPA thrills and degenerates into a cloying bitterness. Yet, still soft on the mouth.
As for my brewer review... a brewer this far north has a limited audience and growth trajectory. They also have a limited busy season. But having revived a brewery from a 100 years ago is a unique enough story to give them some OA Hugs. Good luck !

A- good head and lasts. Nice lacing. Color is hazy orange.
S- tropical fruits. Acceptable.
T- fruity up front then a lasting hop bite end.
M- smooth medium body.
O- worth giving a try. Comes in cans and I bought it for the pool.

Poured from can to tulip. Color is dark orange with some yeast haze, which settles to the bottom after a few moments. Three fingers of foam settles to a thin cap of white, with plenty of lacing to spare. Decent looking brew. Smell is bread, citrus and floral hops, and the taste follows through on the promise: bread, sweet malt, citrus, floral, and some pine tang. Decent offering, but there are a couple other brews from Cheboygan I go with first before this one.

16 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/tropical hops and moderate malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, peach, lemon/orange peel, pine, light caramel, honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of big citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt sweetness; with a solid malt/bitterness balance and some light lingering bitter hop astringency after the finish, but not too bad. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and resinous/sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a nice IPA. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of big citrus/tropical/piney hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. The bitterness was a bit rough, but it had nice hop complexity overall. A nicely enjoyable offering.

L:Poured by 16 oz can into a pint glass. Huge 2 inch head on this one that leaves lots of sticky lacing on the glass that stayed throughout the tasting. Looks a bit cloudy.
S: Faint floral & citrus notes. Also a bit of pine resin.
T: Juicy citrus taste which I really like, but something is just a bit off here that keeps this beer from being a really solid IPA. I think it might be that hop/malt balance, but I'm honestly not quite sure. Bitterness is a bit understated for an IPA. This seems to be closer to an APA.
F: Nice on the tongue, but just a bit thin for my tastes.
O: Not bad, not great. I'd have another if offered, but wouldn't seek it out. This one is really close to being a solid IPA, but is just a bit off.

A bit heavy on the malt. Very nice full earthy flavor. Mild bitterness. Very slight Touch of citrus after taste. Solid beer.

A - Pours a hazy golden orange with a large three-finger sturdy head. The head leaves tons of sticky lacing.
S - Aromas are of faint citrus, sweet malts, and earthy hops.
T - The taste starts off with a nice sweet maltiness and a decent amount of citrus - mostly orange and grapefruit. There is a strong earthy hop bitterness with some biscuity malts in the finish.
M - Medium bodied with low carbonation. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy.
O - This is a very middle of the road IPA. There is nothing really wrong with it, but nothing stands out.
