Quiet and neat little building on the main drag in Cheboygan along the riverfront. If you sit on the rooftop deck you can watch the ships go in and out. Inside was a small counter, a few taps, a few tables, some merch, some memorabilia, and a popcorn maker. Behind the counter is a window to look into the brewing floor, otherwise you can check out some of the photos of the original brewery. Popcorn is free, otherwise they allow you to bring in food from outside. Three brews were on tap when we visited: Cerveza, Blood Orange Honey, and Lighthouse Amber. There may have been a fourth that was erased from the small chalkboard on the counter; it looks like they're set up for a maximum of four taps. There's a small cooler with four packs of cans for sale; only Lighthouse Amber and Blood Orange were available.
We didn't bother with the Lighthouse, it's seemingly available on tap at just about every bar in the area. Really, the only reason to visit the brewery is to try the seasonals that aren't canned, otherwise you can find them at a couple shops around the area.

Nothing special. Almost like they frontend/bar was an afterthought. Not a lot going on at all. Not too many taps, and the beers they do have are nothing that showcase the brewery; I think they don't go out and experiment much to create a unique beer. I must say the roof to relax and drink in a wood recliner is cool though.

the only good thing about this brewery is the roof top patio.

I enjoyed the Lighthouse Amber and IPA on the roof deck (the weather was outstanding)...had a bratwurst from a street vendor that showed up in the afternoon. Nice! Liked the inside historical displays. This establishment is along the Cheboygan River.

My wife and I stopped here as part of a pub crawl in northern Michigan and the UP to visit the newer brewpubs (plus several others) that have opened since our last trip ‘up north’. This brewery has been open a few years but we have not been traveling this way to stop for a visit until now.
We visited here in the early afternoon to evaluate their beers. (They have no food other than free pretzel sticks.) The place is right on the main drag that goes thru town, and it is a 2-story building that has a roof-top deck for enjoying the beer along with a view of the lake. The interior is all recently constructed, and many poster photos of the old brewery that were on the walls made this seem like a museum more than a pub. (This brewery is a resurrection of an historic brewery of the same name in this town.) The current brewing equipment was visible thru a window behind the bar.
There were only 4 beers on tap, and all of them were lagers. (I think the historic brewery produced only lager beers back then, which is probably the basis for what they are doing now.) To me, lager beers never seem to be as exciting as ales, and that was the impression that we received from these beers. They were are all good beers and are right on to style taste as described on the beer menu, but we rated them from a B to a C grade because only the one beer (High Grade Export) seemed a little exceptional. If we’re in the area we’ll stop in again, but we won’t go out of our way for a return visit.

We were very pleased by the tasting room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the number of beers available to taste was three which is what they currently had in production. Behind the bar was a plate glass window into the brewing area. We were able to watch the brewmaster at work while we sampled the offerings. That was very interesting. They offered free tastes and one could purchase a glass of anything for a fee.
