Poured from a bottle from the release last weekend obtained via trade (thanks Dave for getting it to me super fresh)
A: Beer pours a hazy golden/orange with minimal head.
S: Smells absolutely incredible. Hops and pineapple make my mouth water.
T: Similar to the smell, but a little pinier and not quite as citrusy/sweet as I expected. It's damn hoppy, but not overwhelmingly bitter, and has a pretty tame low-key malt presence. A sticky hops flavor lingers.
M: Carbonation is fairly low (intentionally), but the beer is creamy and has a nice body for a beer so light in color.
D: Exceptionally drinkable for a DIPA, very smooth and not all that bitter despite the massive hops flavor. I could definitely put down a few of these if I was sitting at the bar.
Overall this is a pretty fantastic DIPA right up there with some of the other fine examples of the style, but it definitely has a uniqueness to it with the low carbonation, creamy mouthfeel, incredible smell, hops-galore and easy drinkability. Definitely glad I was able to try it and hoping that this beer does get canned and into regular circulation some day. More people need to experience this one.

Heady Topper is by far one of my favorite beers ever sampled. I've had it probably over 20 times, very hard to get, but they always happen to show up at our beer tastings. I'm not a huge fan of the amount of yeast/sediment in the bottom, but if you pour it just right into a pint glass you can avoid most of the sludge. Very hoppy and very flavorful.
