Pours a clear reddish-amber with a thin white head. Aroma starts off with caramel, and then fades to piney hops. Mild hop presence then the aroma would indicate, Nice caramel notes, a touch of roast, and then a mild earthy bitter finish. Moderate body, and nicely inviting. Not sure it really reaches Imperial levels, but a solid Red.

Poured from a can without any dating.
MIxed malt and hop aroma with an earthy autumnal quality. Little flecks of sweetness that offer bits of flower or fruit. Nice.
Foamy tan head over a somewhat hazy red amber body.
Lighter body than I expected with an aqueous quality and it's out of sync with the richer quality of the taste - less of an issue over time for some reason. Taste mimics the aroma with the earthy malt and hop mix. Less sweetness than was noted in the aroma. Smooth string of bitterness middle to extended finish. This seems to grow in time.
A shot or too of hop excess at times.
Lays a little heavy on the tongue for me, but some pleasing moments in this one.

This beer pours a clear bright amber with a solid head. The aroma features big sweet candy malts, dank, resinous pine and cannabis, and brown sugar. The flavor starts with sweet red malts, brown sugar, caramel, pine, resin, cannabis, and cinnamon. The mouthfeel is semi-full, sweet, with moderate fizzy carbonation. Overall it maybe because I am digging this style right now, but I am loving this beer - really tensely balanced between hops and malts, with a great richness.

12oz can purchased in Rapid City, SD. I don't see any dates on the can. Flown home from Denver. I think this is my very first made in ND beer. Served in a Belgian glass.
Pours slightly reddish dark amber with a medium sized head and a lot of fine slow carbonation. Smell is caramel, toast, slight tropical fruit juiciness, something sort of sour that I can't place.
Taste is malty, slightly caramelly, a surprisingly coffee-like bitterness, but not quite coffee and not quite pine. Really a strange bitter profile. Can't decide if it's interesting or bad. Currently leaning toward interesting.
Mouthfeel is dry, thin, light, leaves a resinous feeling in the mouth, which is strange because it doesn't seem that hop forward. Overall, not a bad beer, not a great beer, a kind of strange beer. I think worth a try, but I think probably not something I'd buy a six-pack.

12 oz can. Pours clean deep amber, two finger off white head with great retention, ringy lace. Caramel malt aroma. Semi sweet sticky malt body, very clean taste, piney hops come in to even things out. Dry finish. Mouthfeel a little thin, oily. This is a good imperial red ale, not overly sweet, just right on the back end bitterness.
