From tap to taster at Due South tasting room on 6/2/12
A: Looks good. Very, very good in fact. A massive 3+ finger cascading head tops the glass. Dark as can be, lots of sticky lacing and a killer creamy collar.
S: Fresh brownie batter, coffee, grass, a little bit of alcohol esters.
T: Mellow/ Chalky coffee, rich char, earth floor, and some floral, biting hops land on the finish. Some dark cocoa really shows up as it warms. Damnit this is good.
M: The feel here is right on. Creamy and smooth with a well above average medium to almost full body. Thanks nitro-tap!
O: One of the better lower abv stouts I've stumbled across in some time. This is easily in the Evolution Rise Up Stout league, which is high praise in my book. I'd surely have grabbed a growler of this has it not been on nitro. Big thumbs up.
