L: pours amber gold with a slight haze under a 1" white foam cap with poor retention.
S: Light German malt, spicy grain, bread crumb and spicy, floral hop aromas rise from the glass. Both hop and malt aromas are medium.
T: The palate starts with big malt flavors, bread crumb and a light malty sweetness with a caramel note. Its seasoned with a German malt and hop spiciness. Malt and hop bitterness are moderate while the levels of toastiness and bread crust are low for the style.
F: medium body and medium high carbonation.
O: This Oktoberfest is a little lighter and sweeter in flavor and slightly more bitter but it works. I knocked it down a little for head retention, the level of caramel and the malt/hop balance.

A clear orange in color with a thin tan head. Aromas of sweet grain. Taste is sweet malt, followed by some toffee, finishing with a mild grassy bitterness. Average mouthfeel. Overall a very good marzen.

Enjoyed on tap. Pours a light, clear straw color with a foamy white head.
The aroma is loaded with sweet malt: biscuit and bread with a hint of caramel.
Tastes quite nice. Malt body followed by a sharp hop bite.
Mouthfeel is about medium.
A good Marzen.

Pours a golden yellow with a short lived medium white head. Aroma and taste of grains and cereal with some grass notes and some mild biscuit malt and light hops. Palate is a medium body with mild carbonation. The finish is somewhat subdued in flavor and aroma, I found this to be more straight lager then Oktoberfest, I did not taste any toasted malt or earthy flavors. Overall that being said a mediocre Oktoberfest.

09/26/13 On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. Exactly what an Oktoberfest should be. Refreshing & robust. On the heavy side for a "masse bier" but damn good for getting in the spirit. Prost.
