A - Served a hazy copper-orange color with a touch of white head. The head fades fairly quickly with a bit of lace left behind.

S - Aroma is full of sweet caramel and biscuit malts with a touch of bread.

T - Starts off with some sweet caramel malts with a touch of roasted character with some brown sugar sweetness. Through the middle some biscuit malt comes through with some more caramel flavor and some citrus and tropical hop. The finish is a mix of sweet caramel malt with some tropical hop, biscuit, and light bread.

M - Medium-light bodied with mild carbonation. Feels smooth with a lightly creamy mouthfeel.

D - Very drinkable. Good bitter with decent balance of malt and hops. Good balance of sweetness and other flavors.

Imbibed on tap at 31st Union on 6/16/13.

Pours a clear copper with a thick, creamy white head. Laces quite well. Aroma is very hoppy with grapefruit dominating the nose, along with pine and tropical fruit. Light malt hints underneath, but I don't get much nuttiness or biscuit which makes me think they used American barley. Clean light barley flavor starts things off with a bit of nuttiness and cracker, followed by spicy hops, then slightly resinous pine and finishing with a clean bitterness, most likely a uniquely English hop such as Goldings. Feel is middling with a somewhat dry finish for the style.

I want this again. Great version of a hoppy bitter.
