On tap at Stone. This is from BJ's in Reno, Nevada.

A: Dark brown with a reddish tinge near the edges and a small bubbly beige head.

S: Robust chocolate notes blend with roasted grains and dark fruit. It actually smells like it has an incipient lactic infection. In fact, that's exactly what it smells like. Whiskey is strong, as are oak and vanilla. It actually smells quite nice.

T: Lightly tart with a lactic tang and a metallic note. Chocolate is apparent, and I get earth, roast, and whiskey.

M: Lower medium body with moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is too thin.

Overall: The flaws weren't glaring when the beer was cold, but the flavor got worse as it warmed. The lactic notes work in the aroma but not in the flavor. (745 characters)
