A: The pour is a dark, dark brown color--bordering on black--with a creamy tan head resting on top.
S: The nose is roasty and chocolatey, the two usual suspects of an imperial stout. There's also a noticeable alcohol aroma which is surprising considering it's "only" 8.5%.
T: The roast and chocolate and mild coffee flavors are present, but there is a dominating flavor of harsh alcohol which is very abrasive and makes the beer tough to drink.
M: Despite the flavor, the mouthfeel is quite enjoyable. The body is a bit on the light side, but the Nitrogen provides some excellent creaminess.
D: I just couldn't drink very much of this. Unfortunately, the beer was overly alcoholic and harsh. I would go for any of the offerings instead if this continues to be the case.
Serving type: nitro-tap
