A: Nearly black but the light that gets through the edge or the pou shows a deep garnet hue and good clarity. The persistant, medium-tan head is long lasting and comprised of mostly creamy bubble, with a few big ones, that leave a light lacing on the glass.

S: The aroma is like chocolate covered dark fruit. Moderate cocoa and bittersweet chocolate aromas dominate the nose. There is a moderately light malt sweetness with a touch of caramel and moderate plum aroma. No noticeable hops aroma but a soft perfumery alcohol aroma.

T: A moderately-strong roasty, dark malt flavor with a bit of sweetness and a moderate hops bitterness with a moderate cocoa flavor greet the palate first. There is a moderately-low citrus hops flavor. Some dried dark fruit flavors blend in there as well. The balance is somewhat bitter with the hops doing most of the work and the grains assisting a little bit. The finish is off dry and the aftertaste is of roasted grains and hop bitterness. The alcohol brings a light flowery note.

M: Creamy and full bodied with a moderate level of carbonation. There is light warming that

O: This is a potent American Stout with a nice layer of cocoa. I was expecting it to be a bit more like a sweet stout but this is pleasingly bitter and modestly dry.

This is a tasty brew. It is just not my type of stout. A bit too sweet, but nontheless well done. On the palette, it lingers with an odd soapy taste. The alcohol is well hidden, and it finishes with a cocoa, rather than a chocolate taste. It is definitely a dessert beer for sure.

750ml corked and caged bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Pours dark appearing black in the glass with a dense slightly tanned head. Takes a couple minutes to dissipate and leaves a thick coating of lacing on the sides.

S: Chocolate is immediately noticeable upon first whiff. A dry milk chocolate aroma almost like a cocoa powder. Touch of fermented fruit and roasted malt. Focus is really on the chocolate.

T: Nice balanced flavor on this one that is quite enjoyable. Chocolate is in the forefront is provides a sweetness throughout. Roasted malts are take a back seat but are still enjoyable.

M: Full body with a real smooth creamy mouthfeel. Dry finish. Very easy drinking for its ABV.

Overall this is a solid chocolate stout with a remarkable mouthfeel. Hard to believe it is as strong as it is. Something I would recommend.

On tap at Donnelly's Public House in Fairport, NY.

Pours black, not super dark, but still black. One inch mocha head, thick strands of lacing down the glass.

Smells include milk chocolate, roasted malt, and some vanilla.

The taste is very similar. Strong sweet milk chocolate flavor here- cocoa powder and Hershey's chocolate bars. Roasted malt is a secondary flavor, but still there. Sweet, but not cloying.

Full bodied, silky smooth mouthfeel. Very drinkable, with no alcohol present.

A good easy drinking stout from a new brewery I want to try more of.

Bottled: unk, before today.

It's black, a soapy tan surface foam floats about. Smells of cocoa, liciorice, molasses, toasted malts, really reminds me of Expidition stout with extra cocoa and a touch of graham character. Nice nose. Flavor follows suit with lots of cocoa, fudgy and licorice tones with a char and almost belgian character. Some soil and leather as well. Full bodied with moderate carb and a dry finish. Nice beer. I would drink again and would say that this beer would be greatly endorsed by a nitro treatment.

750 mL bottle that is corked and caged. no bottling date.

extremely dark brown in color, almost black. thin off-white head that fades. subtle aroma, but if you put your nose in the glass, a nice pleasant mix of cocoa and mild earthly hops. as it warms, the taste improves - a nice chocolate flavor builds. but not sweet at all, actually finishes quite dry. slightly roasty, a touch of charcoal, smoke. medium to thick body, moderate carbonation. drinks smooth.

overall - a nice beer, not boozy and drinks easy for the abv.

The beer pours a dark brown/black color with a thick frothy tan head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is awesome! It has a killer black and chocolate malt scent; warm and roasted with a nice sweet chocolate character. The taste is great as well. It has a silky smooth, chocolate malt flavor that goes down slow and easy with a good deal of warmth in the finish. It's a complex brew with loads of roasted, black, and chocolate malt character. The mouthfeel is fine. It is a full bodied beer with adequate carbonation. This is a tremendous beer. I've been waiting patiently to get my hands on a bottle of this. It was worth the wait.
