On tap @ the Beer Belly Deli on Westcott, staff unsure of abv... "but if it comes in a tulip it must be over 7% at least..."

The beer pours a rich looking, dull, burnt- orange amber with a quarter inch of an off-white head that dissipates into a thin halo without lacing. The nose is relatively sweet and indistinctly hoppy with a touch of alcohol. The taste is potently bitter, reminiscent of grapefruit rinds, but becomes more tropical/citrusy as it warms. There is a lingering pine sappy bitterness that coats the palate after each sip. It's a relatively sweet, medium bodied sipper with ample carbonation and a touch of malt and alcohol in the finish. It shows mild improvement as it warms from its 33 degree serving temperature. However, it's almost offensive when paired with my meal. This beer is a straight forward imperial IPA that packs a potent bitterness into each abrasive sip. I'd probably drink this beer again in the future, but it's a relatively average dipa.
