Mermaid Pilsner is a light-bodied, crisp-drinking, nicely hopped lager. A heavy-handed addition of rye malt adds a mild spiciness, which is balanced by a light, fruity, floral hop aroma.

I have seen some people's reviews about this beer. I disagree with them. The beer is not clear it definitely has a cloudy Haze to it. And there is not a lemony taste as people are writing, it is grapefruit that I taste. It has some sharpness to it and definite fruity flavors. A bit of sourness but not too much. I do not like sour beers so if you don't either, this beer should work for you if you want something with a bit of fruity flavor, that is not heavy. A long aftertaste that stays on the tongue and in the mouth. A nice refreshing beer, not as much as a Summer Ale of course, but still can be enjoyed in all seasons. Worth a taste!

The pour is golden yellow with meager amount of carbonation. The taste is white cracker along with a soft lemon note. Cheers! B-

Don't understand why they have this classified as a German Pilsner. No pilsner qualities, whatsoever. This is, at best, an average pale lager. Lemony notes prevail. No hops, no spicey pilsner malts, nothing. Easy drinking and better than your average American lager, but it is not even close to your average German pilsner.

Pilsner from the happy side of the tracks. Nothing to scream and shout about, but in my view the beer world needs more hopped up lagers so that's my two cents.

A: pours a straw yellow body with a minor, white head with minimal lacing and retention.
S: malty notes with hints of lemongrass
T: lemony, malt notes with a subtle, toffee finish
M: light bodied and a little thin.
O: Ok beer, but nothing overly impressive.

On tap at Puffy’s Tavern, Tribeca, NYC. Low carbonation, honeyed American lager with a smooth, slick mouthfeel. Good-looking, easy-drinking and fun. Not a great pilsner, in my opinion, but a perfect beach boardwalk beer.

Best by Feb (next month) but found in the cooler. Poured into a shaker.

L: 3.25. Moderate haze with ample carbonation and a lingering head. I like clarity in my pilsners.
S: 3.75. Not getting off notes, Spicy, floral hops.
T: 3.5. Might be some degradation but far from a drain pour. Very floral. Nice bite of hop bitterness. Hint of lemongrass.
F: 3.25 Medium mouthfeel. A bit heavy for a pils.
O: 3.5. Not a bad pilsner, though I think this one was on its way out and a fresh one would score higher.

The best US Pilsner. Big body for a Pilsner with unusual hoppy bitterness but not overwhelming — just enough to let you know this is a new world Pilsner from Brooklyn. A unique and special Pilsner indeed.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance - The beer is served a clear golden color with a one head finger of white foam. The head fades fast, but leaves a persistent head of white foam on the top of the brew.
Smell - The aroma is light overall, with smells of grain and bread. Along with these smells comes notes of caramel and herb.
Taste - The taste begins with a grainy and lightly sweetened caramel taste. As the taste advances, flavors of a light herb and earth hop taste come to the tongue. Toward the end a bit of hay and citrus sweetness comes to the tongue leaving one with a nice clean, slightly sweeter, but pleasent taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the brew is light and crisp with a carbonation level that is moderate. Overall nice and easy.
Overall -. A nice easy drinking pilsner.

Crystal clear golden body, light carbonation and a white bubble cap. Rye, corn sweetness in the malt, pale grains and lemon in the nose, verging toward macro but hope is there. In the taste hope is extinguished with perpetual darkness: awful lemon dusting solution flavor with the floral hops, grains and malts are watery, sickly sweet, and pale macro, together is just an awful combination. Feel is watery, grainy, bright, and again has the bloated macro grain and malt mouthfeel. Even if this was an american pilsner I would still find it to be lacking, drain pour

Look:
Pours an unapologetically bold yellow with plenty of bubbles that form a snowy white head. Displays stringy lacing with alarmingly short retention. Not bad, all told. But the best thing about appearances with this beer is the art on the can. Sex appeal without outright lewdness. Skillful color contrast evidenced by the cool-spectrumed fair skin and her sea-green hair of the mermaid, outlined by deep red. The mermaid's tattoo includes every color on the can, increasing how well she matches the whole image. Coney Island, if you're reading this: give your artists a raise and fire your brew master.

Bouquet:
Nothing special going on here. Smells like beer. No rye malts, no fruits, no anything that was promised on the box.

Taste:
See the above section but replace the word "smell" with "taste". No notable failures but no noteworthy praises either. Utterly milquetoast.

Feel:
Fun? It's got some prickly bubbles, light-bodied, and is abundantly drinkable.

Overall:
Like the artwork, the beer itself is completely inoffensive. But unlike the artwork, it has no vibrance, no allure, and no originality.
