Been looking forward to trying this place. Got there to meet a friend for a beer around 4:00. They weren't really busy but the girls bartending seem to be overwhelmed by the few tables they had. It took awhile to get their attention. I asked for water 4 times before I got one. I ordered the flight and my buddy ordered a house pint. I have a review for all of them in their own beer section. The bar is large, with TVs and lots of tables. Violent Femmes on the radio. The restaurant is adjacent to the bar. All kinds of food, pizza, sandwiches, steaks, ribs desserts, etc. We didn't partake in the food so I can't rate it. They have a happy hour where you buy a pint and an app and get a dollar off of each. Lots of guest taps, pretty good array. Overall, their house beer was boring and the service wasn't very good. No growler option, though there wasn't a beer there I wanted ToGo. On the up side, food looks pretty good, nice guest tap selection and nothing to dangerous in beer tastes. A good place to bring macro drinkers who want to be a little more adventurous.

I recently moved out of San Diego but have been following the opening of ECBC for awhile. I had an extra hour or so on Sunday so I stopped in for lunch and a flight. They were brewing in the back and you could smell wort as you walked to the front door.
The restaurant is split into a semi dark bar area and a well lit dining area. The decor is a little lacking but still a very clean good feeling place. You can read my reviews of the beers for more information but all 4 were solid examples of the style and I would be glad to have any again. There were a lot of guest taps with the usual local and mirco breweries. I would like to see them have special events and kegs in the future.
All the food we had was pretty good and fairly priced. It was still a soft opening and I'm glad they took the time to get the basics down because it will really pay off in the long run. El Cajon is lucky to have this place open up.
