ive tried with these guys, really i have. was unimpressed with a brewery visit, took some time away from their stuff, and have dabbled back in a little bit from time to time, always willing to give them a fresh chance, but this might be my last, i just dont have the patience for beer this bad anymore, and whoever is making and releasing this stuff should know better, and has certainly had every opportunity to fix it, not sure how they can stay in business with beer like this out in the market, yuck! muted slightly hazy brass toned brew without much head after the initial pour. it smells like solvent and floor cleaner, high tone artificial lemon concentrate and even a bleachy thing, at first i roll with it, could be the hops right? well, the flavor shows just how off this is, a total disaster on the fermentation side and the high dose of hops doesnt save it. any competent brewer should recognize that and dump this out, how it makes it to a bar on a tap line is beyond me, but it knocks these guys down another peg. the chemical zizzle lasts well beyond the swallow, and there is a sharp bite to this along with it, at once tasting old and electric, both in bad ways. like in the very back of my palate, i still taste it, and i had it yesterday afternoon. it almost tastes toxic. its been a long time since i had a beer go this wrong in this direction, especially in public, i feel bad saying this about a small local operation, but they need to get some quality control happening quick if they are going to make it. not sure i can see myself drinking their beer again anytime soon. this is brutal, avoid at all costs.

Not sure about the low ratings, but this is a really good IPA. Growler from Crooked Fence taproom. Pours cloudy amber (cloudiness eventually settles) with thick rocky head. Hoppy aroma with some malt evident also. Taste is initially sharp piney hops, malt and mild spiciness in the background.

Big head...the cream thick ...as a Treasury Valley inversion fog. I could stick a pencil in it and it would stand upright. The carbonation stays with the head. The bubbles cling to the lacing as the foam settles. Fruit flavors....distance orange groves with grapefruit planted along the crooked fence. Creamy mouth feel...aroma subtle ...again undertones of central Florida. Searching for hop bang...nothing. Pack in a couple more hop varieties and a 11% ABV and this just might be the DEVILS'S PICK. Well worth buying. Cheers

Bottle cap popped with the smallest of aid...no hiss of carbonation, great...22oz bomber into my Sam Smith oversized nonic...

A: Nearly still liquid with a few big bubbles...hazy golden colored with no head or lace really.

S: Pretty malty, bready with a touch of caramel/toffee. Slight piney zest with suggestions of citrus.

T: Flavors are even harder to 'Pick' out...again, faint citrus, hints of lemon, and pine wrapped in a malty, bready base. Pretty bland, the hops seem buried. Not too much bitterness here either, so I'm not sure if this was a very hoppy beer to begin with.

MF: Seems (to me) to be almost medium bodied with the malt bill...really suffers from lack of carbonation.

O: Meh...pretty disappointing. Besides their BA stout and Black IPA, I'm still searching for something I could have repeatedly from these guys. Almost sent this as an extra without trying it, and glad I didn't.

There is a nice spot on their labels for a bottle date too, there's just nothing written/typed there. Not sure if I got an old bottle or what, but that's my point. Can you fella's help a brother out?

After a looong shitty day with my wife's work, then my job, and then my wife's work again, I was trying to make a straight line home but made a short stop off at Crooked Fence and picked up a 22.. Poured into HotD goblet... light orange with a slight haze... the head is eggshell with nice retention and a determined cap.

Nose shows piney hops but could use a bit more ummph... light pale malt and some light toastiness are used just to deliver the hoppiness.. pretty promising.

Proper bitterness!! Bitter bite to malt balance to hop flavors = damn good.. well made and everything falls into place. I personally would like a bit more hop flavor, but that is a very minor bitch.

The body is near perfect at 7% .. carbonation is a bit burpy but close to bulls-eye.

CF really did good work with this one.. This should be a can offering. I think in cans, it would give a more drinkable brew than Dagger Falls.
