12 ounce clear bottle with a code of BBE 09/07 on it (I assume it's best before Sept. 07). Served in a pint glass, the beer pours a pale gold color with a very small white head. It smells like grain, corn, malt and also some skunk. Luckily the taste wasn't too awful. It tastes the same way, but with no skunk in the taste. Mouthfeel is light, but highly carbonated. Drinkability is OK, it's not hard to drink at all. Other than the skunk in the smell it's non-offensive, but nothing special.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a light to medium golden amber with a two finger white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of lager malt, a touch of corn sweetness, mild grain and lemon. Flavor follows, with light corn adjunct malt, some graininess, especially in the finish and a touch of citrus (I can see why folks drink these with lemon/lime wedges; enhancing that flavor would be a plus). Flavor starts out ok, but tapers off to diluted with light graininess in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Much like the Presidente I had last night, has a the expected adjunct lager flavor, but more dilute fading in the finish. As usual with the style, inoffensive but uninteresting. This one appears to be brewed in Florida, making me wonder if the island version is "imported" from Florida or completely different.

12oz clear bottle with 10:50 23156 stamped on the neck, so presumably freshish. Poured into a perfect pint glass at fridge temp 5% ABV. The beer pours bright pale gold with off white head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of bubbles. Slight lacing. The aroma is mild with a bit of skunk, corn and stone fruit. The taste follows with all that and a decent dollop of diacetyl and no appreciable bitterness. Mouthfeel is thin bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Overall, poor, even for an AAL which I'm usually a big +rDev on reviews.

Clear light golden appearance with sparse lazy film of surface head. Grass, celery, tea. Light body and light carbonation, even a bit watery. Nothing offensive about this beer, just very little nose, taste, and even mouthfeel.

Appearance: 12oz bottle into a glass at Cane in D.C. (when in Rome…) Clear golden color with no head at all. Effervescence from the bottom of the glass.

Aroma: Minimal. Typical lager. Corn and grain.

Taste: Same as the nose but with some Caribbean sweetness.

Feel: Low carbonation. Not dry.

Overall: Not bad. Wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it but it’s hard to pass up when at a Trini restaurant.

Pairing: Refreshing accompaniment to chicken dhalpuri roti.

Almost perfect appearance, crystal clear gold with a large fluffy head on top. Corny and grainy on the nose. The taste is a bit bitter but much better than I was expecting. Refreshing mouthfeel

I actually liked this beer. For its style, I thought it had a pretty good, somewhat complex flavor.

I bought a bottle of this beer at our local Total Wine. Poured into a tall pint glass. Clear yellow color with decent initial head that dissipates quickly with essentially no lacing. Corny and slightly sweet smell and taste. The taste was also fruity and had some sweet spice background. This would be an adjunct lager I would consider buying again.

June 2007: 275 ml clear bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. Brewed and bottled in Trinidad. UK import: www.globalbrands.co.uk . Ingredients include sugar. Pale golden colour, fizzy, large white head. Sweetish industrial aroma. Fizzy mouthfeel. Sweetish and slightly lemony flavour with minimal hops. Boring beer.

12 oz. bottle, some coded bottling information. My first encounter with this beer, acquired a single bottle as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's. Identified as "Lager Beer", brewed by Carib Brewery, USA, Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Poured to a Bell's pint glass.

An extremely weak, pale, straw yellow. Two fingers of white fizzy froth for a head. Carbonation streaming topside. An off-putting color
Aromas of wet grains, slightly grassy, maybe even the slightest touch of lemon, and wet cardboard.
Whew. Wet cardboard, corn / grain, and some fusel alcohol on the finish. It was feeling kind of grainy to me, but then the fusel booze hit me. Notes of coppery metallics / well water.
Feel is crisp & clean, slightly grainy & metallic aftertaste. Semi-bloating / filling carbonation. Not sitting well with me, the rest of this bottle will probably hit the drain.
I've had worse beers, and I would call this fairly typical, if on the low-end of the spectrum for the style. Would probably taste much better were it actually consumed beach-side in the Caribbean.

Carib Lager -----2/5.

Drank straight from 12 oz clear bottle. Tastes of cool corn adjunct with slightly sweet back taste. Decent carbonation. For what it is, it’s not that bad and a great island beer for a beach or balcony.

One of my sons brought me a few and various beers from the islands. This is one of them. On a hot and humid day, this is a very crushable beer, especially if it is iced cold. Otherwise, it's just a normal island type of beer. No hoppy-ness and a wheaty/bready kinda taste.
