Grumbler pour into a snifter.
A: Pours a very dark brown appearing black in the glass. Not much head on this, just a bit of light tan around the edges of the glass. Leaves some lacing on the sides of the glass.
S: Strong roastiness on this one, milk chocolate permeates the aroma as well. Hints of coffee and a bit like a milk stout.
T: Balanced flavor that surprises you at the fact its a RIS. At first there is a heavy dose of roasted malts with some hops trying to balance it out. Notes of coffee and hints of licorice as well.
M: Very smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Mostly clean finish with just a touch of stickiness. Alcohol is well hidden.
Overall this is a prime example of a Russian Imperial Stout. Really focuses on the roastiness and malt flavors. Velvetly smooth mouthfeel makes this easy drinking.

A- Pitch black with large lacing no legs and coffee in color
S- Too much bland malt, almost smells oak aged, though this bottle is not.
T- More oak aged... not sure why; bottle does not show this. Chocolate and malt backbone
M- Watery, though better than most for sure. I am just spoiled.
O- A good RIS
