Growler filled at Yorktown (NY) Beverage.

Pours cloudy, lighter brown, nice looking fine film, and plentiful fields of sheeting. Nice looking brew.

Pine hop nose, on the muted side

Densly flavorful and well hopped IIPA. More pine and resins.

Smooth n' tasty. High quality all the way. Glad to get to enjoy it on draft.

3 oz sample pour at AJ's Beer Warehouse in Henrietta, NY.

Pours a cloudy amber, with some haze, a one inch head, and not much lacing.

Smells include citrus fruits (grapefruit), caramel malts, and pine sap.

This is another maltier DIPA that I'm trying today. Some grainy, malty sweetness up front, reminiscent of caramel, followed by some nice piney and citrusy hop flavors. A little bit of lingering bitterness.

Light to medium body, crisp, dry finish. No alcohol present

First beer from this brewery. Not a knock your socks off DIPA, drinks more like a single IPA, really, in terms of hop flavor and alcohol. Still pretty good.

A: nothing wrong here appearance-wise - deep golden, almost amber ale - nice and clear beneath the tan foam head...

S: bright pine action underscored by sweet malt and caramel... bright hops right up the nose, softened by darker malt impressions

T: big blast of woody and rustic hops, elements of pine and dark citrus at play; malty chew and caramel sweetness nicely balanced with the bitterness

M: leans ever-so-slightly to the hop, bittering accompanied by a nice roasty aftertaste - almost with some notes of nut; medium weight and amply carbonated

O: for fans of the style, of course you should grab one - its a real good DIPA - for the intermittent drinker of DIPAS, it a basic entry into the field...

On draft at Tap and Barrel, Smithtown, NY.

The smell featured balmy tropical fruit like hop aromas coupled with a light sweetness.

The taste was hop driven, but in a softer sense. Elements of mango and pineapple dominated with a light clean caramel close behind.

The mouthfeel was full and relatively clean with no signs of ABV heat.

Overall an enjoyable and different DIPA.

picked up a 16 oz growler fill locally earlier today (was told the keg was fresh when i asked). enjoyed from a blue point snifter globe.

a - brew poured a transparent deep amber orange with a generous 2+ finger foamy head. as the head evaporated, chunks of lacing clung to the glass. looks great.

s - smells of caramel hops. sticky pine cone with a nice malt back bone.

t - nice dank hop with an equally big caramel malt back bone. almost barleywine like in how it seems so jam packed with ingredients, but the flavor is spot on.

m - smooth, not as syrupy or thick as i would expect. kind of like a barleywine with an ipa body.

o - overall, another impressive beer from spider bite. great flavor, well integrated abv...good body. this is a beer that i will seek out again.

Pours out amber with a decent nose of citrus fruit, hops and sugars.

The drinking is a sweet sugar and booze bomb to the palate. A booze and bitter finish follows with more sweet malts. The mouth feel is rather heavy and sticky. Major booze bomb and not overly impressed. Bottled 9/1/14 in MA.
