Pours out amber with a decent nose of citrus fruit, hops and sugars.

The drinking is a sweet sugar and booze bomb to the palate. A booze and bitter finish follows with more sweet malts. The mouth feel is rather heavy and sticky. Major booze bomb and not overly impressed. Bottled 9/1/14 in MA.

A: nothing wrong here appearance-wise - deep golden, almost amber ale - nice and clear beneath the tan foam head...

S: bright pine action underscored by sweet malt and caramel... bright hops right up the nose, softened by darker malt impressions

T: big blast of woody and rustic hops, elements of pine and dark citrus at play; malty chew and caramel sweetness nicely balanced with the bitterness

M: leans ever-so-slightly to the hop, bittering accompanied by a nice roasty aftertaste - almost with some notes of nut; medium weight and amply carbonated

O: for fans of the style, of course you should grab one - its a real good DIPA - for the intermittent drinker of DIPAS, it a basic entry into the field...

3 oz sample pour at AJ's Beer Warehouse in Henrietta, NY.

Pours a cloudy amber, with some haze, a one inch head, and not much lacing.

Smells include citrus fruits (grapefruit), caramel malts, and pine sap.

This is another maltier DIPA that I'm trying today. Some grainy, malty sweetness up front, reminiscent of caramel, followed by some nice piney and citrusy hop flavors. A little bit of lingering bitterness.

Light to medium body, crisp, dry finish. No alcohol present

First beer from this brewery. Not a knock your socks off DIPA, drinks more like a single IPA, really, in terms of hop flavor and alcohol. Still pretty good.
