Thanks Sean for sending. This was poured into a mini-snifter. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with no head nor lacing. The smell had a huge roasted coffee bean up front with ample amounts of cocoa and then a slice of vanilla sweetness to heighten a light bourbon flavor. The taste was roasty and sweet through vanilla, cocoa and coffee bean. It starts to get a tad woody and brings in to combine in the aftertaste delicately. A slightly sticky finish runs about nicely. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with the subtle roasty qualities laying across my tongue in a really nice fashion. Overall, foreign/export stout - yes and on top of it, bourbon barreled, even better, of course I’d have it again.

Rare on tap availability at the brewery. Pours a dark inky black with only a slight caramel color at the edges when held to light. No head to speak of and only a minimal thin collar.
Smell is slightly like irish whiskey, but mostly boozy and not much of anything else. As it warms you can begin to pick up some malty notes. The taste us predominately alcohol up front but then picks up notes of caramel, malt and some bitterness. Definitely let this warm some before drinking. The feel is a little thin, but matches the unique palate well.
Overall this was a hard beer to rate. It doesn't quite fit the mold of a BA stout, belied by its title as an export stout, but the flavors and feels work to make and very enjoyable beer, if and little hard to categorize.

2014 version, labeled as 7.5%. Dark brown with a tan collar.
Smell is sweet malt sugars, some caramel, a little coffee and diacetyl.
Taste is pretty robust, acrid roast with a little sweetness midpalate before a bitter finish. Moderate heat, with some fusels.
Mouthfeel is a little lifeless, with a medium body.
Drinkability is ok. This is a slow sipper, with some nice depth to it, but also a little too acrid and hot on the finish.

11.2 fl oz bottle. Label proclaims that this is "a strengthened version of our Irish Stout that has been carefully aged in a variety of oak barrels to enhance natural vanilla and roasted flavors."
Pours pitch black with about one finger of sand-colored head. Simmers down to a collar. Small amount of lacing left on the glass.
Smell consists of roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, and oak barrels.
Taste is primarily roasted malt with oak and vanilla flavors. Definitely a dry, bitter, roasted finish with a hint of a whisky alcohol burn.
Mouthfeel is about average in terms of the body. Good level of carbonation.
Overall, an interesting stout. Had somewhat of a difficult time forming an opinion on this one. Definitely recommend letting it warm before consuming.

Although I love stouts, Exports and Foreigns are a sub-sect that I normally avoid. I tend to find them hot with one single dominating roast note. This bottle may have changed my opinion. The beer itself is pitch black and poured with zero head and minimal lacing. The mouthfeel is a little thin for my taste however it's viscosity is working surprisingly well with the carbonation. The roast plays well on the palate offering deep chocolatey caramel and vanilla notes. Although the alcohol was initially present in both smell and taste, it's faded from both as the glass has warmed. Overall it's extremely enjoyable. I hope someday to try more styles from this brewery.
