A - Pours a clear, almost semi-translucent amber/orange in color with a two finger eggshell head.

S - Small amount of clove giving way to orange rind, candied sugar and Belgian yeast. It yields more towards the sugar side than the grassy/funky side.

T - Sweet peaches and orange at first. Bready malts with a dash of white pepper. It's a sweet finish.

M - Medium bodied and medium carbonation. It can seem cloying and has a sticky body.

O - To me, high abv saisons are a style that never really fit the bill for anything. It's half of what you want a saison to be, but the high abv/sugar/cloying make it half of what you don't want it to be.

Bomber bottle poured into pint glass.

Clear orange gold with white head that persists with ample lacing.

Aroma: spicy cloves, mild grassy funk and malt.

Taste: sweet malt, moderate clove spice and moderate bitterness.

Medium body, medium carbonation and quite a bit of ethanol warmth.

Overall very good. This is really more of a belgian specialty ale with more ethanol and less barnyard funk and tartness than many good farmhouse ales.

Pours a chill hazed apricot with a frothy cream head that lingers.

Tangerine, peach, nectarines, and soft farmhouse form the aroma.

Apricot echoes in the flavor, with lightly bready malt at the backbone. There's a hint of farmhouse character. Slight confectioners sugar counters citrus.

Body is fairly heavy for the style, with fairly high carbonation and a touch of alcohol warmth.

I like the fruit flavor, and not as dry or funky as some.

Someone gave me this as an extra, but regrettably, I can't remember who.

Orange-amber color, with a small cap of whitish head, which retained as a small ring and left a few dabs of lacing on the glass. Aroma was pretty muted, caramel malts, fruity esters, herbal hops. In the taste, sweet bready malts, notes of ripe stone fruit, herbal hops, light yeast. There was really nothing here that screamed "saison" at me. A medium bodied brew, with lower carbonation, and I was kind of surprised it was 9%, because it didn't seem that high at all. This would be okay as a sampler, but even splitting a bottle with the wife, I really had no desire to finish it.
