Pours a hazy copper with apricot highlights and a lingering, frothy, dense cream head.

Notes of pear, mango, grapefruit, and pineapple counter resin and pine in the aroma. There's a bit of caramel sweetness and bready malt.

Flavor reveals lots of orange, tangerine, a touch of grapefruit...reminiscent of juicy fruit gum. The finish is very bitter and resiny. Malt definitely takes a backseat to hops, adding just a little bready sweetness, and though I love the flavoring hops, bittering dominate.

Body is a touch full, with moderate carbonation and a hint of alcohol warmth.

Flavoring hops are not the most complex, but have great character. Very fruit forward, though the bittering hops are a little too resiny for my liking.

Poured into a Dogfish Spiegelau glass. No freshness date.

A- Pours a medium amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head that retains well before eventually becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a full sheet of surface foam. Shimmery sheet of lacing.

S- Bright, crisp Citra hop aroma with little malt backing. Somewhat musty.

T- Lemony, orangey citrus notes step up first and then comes a hefty wave of bitterness that stays good and long. Again, not a whole lot of malt to back this up as the hops and their juicy flavor and lingering bitterness are the main attraction. Quite drinkable for the ABV.

M- Moderately sharp and tangy with medium carbonation and a lightish body.

O- Very good, but there are still others from the Dank Tank series I would go for before this one...*cough cough* Price is Wrong!

Massive thanks to 2000drafts who slammed me with 2 rounds of extras, this being in round 2. Took this bomber down in a markintihar pour in my batch 2 TB snifter.

Brew pours a transparent orange with a thin bubbly head from my careful pour. The head never fully went away and lacing was streaky. Nose is dank. Fresh crisp citric, light and not resinous. Flavor is light hip syrup. Big citric notes, doesn't feel like a double. Really nice. Easy drinker abv is invisible. Really enjoyable. Glad to have tried it.

There is nothing to shy away. This is a good beer.

Pours a nice yellow beer. Has some carbonation. Smell is light. Almost citrusy. Taste is good. This is a solid mainstream beer. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to shy about. Good stuff! Sweetwater is a good brewery.

Poured from a bomber into a shaker pint, the beer is a crystal clear, golden-caramel coloring with a clingy, filmy, bright white head. Aromas of grapefruit, tropical fruits, pine resin, berry sweetness, and a caramel backbone. Very resinous and deep, rich nose. This beer engulfs your sense of smell. Flavors are resinous and bitter forward, with a dank, wet, green envelope over your palate. Moss, cut grass, cannibus, cedar, pine pitch, and earth all meld together on your taste buds, with a subtle caramel backbone to provide some momentary balance. Smooth, light, crisp body, with an insane hops characteristic throughout the aftertaste. Tropical fruit highlights on an otherwise dank, resinous, green aftertaste. The finish is slick, smooth, and fairly dry at the very end. Solid brew. I will be searching this one out again.

Johnny Hash
Sweetwater brewing
Double ipa
8.5% ABV
99 IBU

APPEARANCE: Pours a beautiful, bright golden honey color. Big two finger loose off white head. Had nice retention stuck around for a long time.

AROMA: Very aggressive nose, in your face dank cannabis , resin and sticky pine. Mouthwatering juicy citrus, nice amount of ripe tropical fruits that break away in time to let in a small amount of carmel malt.

TASTE: Follows the nose perfectly, you get the big juicy citrusy sweetness and then the bitter hop comes rolling over. That earthy dank, resiny flavors really stand out. A lot of flavors going on but balanced very nicely.

MOUTHFEEL: Medium body and a medium crispy snappy carbonation. Nice bit of oils that helps contains the long bitter finish.

OVERALL: I'll start by saying the name and art work are awesome! This was such a great beer, very drinkable. Flavors where all where they needed to be super bummed it only comes out limited would love to be able to drink this more often.

Pours into a small tulip glass a clear vibrant light golden with a large fluffy white crown that clings to the side of the glass it sellever so slowly, just a great pour.Alot of citrus going on in the nose and not a whole lot of sweetness wich is a good thing.Alot of tangerine and orange on the palate with a good amount of fusel alcohol, pretty raw and in your face really,it seems bigger than it actually is.Not overly sweet wich is good although the sweetness gets a little bigger as I drink more, the hops are fresh and the flavor profile is a little different wich I like, like i said the alcohol to me seems bigger than its 8.5% abv. that it is.Very good.
