Clear gold, topped with some nice, white frothiness. Definite Citra fruitiness hits the nose straightaway: pungent, musky, pulpy fruit, pineapple, and sugary grapefruit. Big floral and super oily hop aromas too, with some herbal spiciness and a touch of dank. Big-time fruity hops in the flavor, which is no surprise. A ripe fructose sweetness, pink grapefruit juice, peaches, limes, melons, and passion fruit. Floral hops too, along with a light malt presence, but nothing that disrupts the hop blast. Fluffy, medium bodied mouthfeel leading to a dry finish. Super fruity and dripping with hop oils, though not much from the marijuana side of things, which is fine considering I think they were more using the hash and kief references to describe the look and feel of the pelletizer scrapings.

Beautiful, clear, amber body, with a perfectly proportioned two finger thick head, with some giant bubbles. The smell of the beer was citric with touch of herbal notes. The taste was quite a well balanced mix of bitter and sweet, but both flavors were very intense. So it was more of a battle than a melding. The bitterness was a mixture of herbal and grapefruit flavors, and the sweetness was very much like a hard candy with some watermelon. The finish brought out the alcohol, along with some pepper like spice. Very sticky in the mouth, which helped the flavors linger on. This is a very nice Double IPA, with toms of flavor. Highly recommended.

Poured on draft at the Salud bottle shop in Charlotte
decent head that dissipates quickly, very clear
light pine, SULFUR
medium to light body
overall, nothing special, perhaps because of the off flavor. rather have a 420 or IPA from the same.

Appearance: Pours a clear amber capped by a buoyant head that leaves a curtain of lace
Smell: Resinous, piney and need I say it - dank
Taste: Shortbread and pine jump right out, with the dank bitterness and tropical fruit tones building through the middle; after the swallow, the sweeter flavors return for another round but they are soundly walloped by the hop bitterness, in the finish; a bit oniony in the aftertaste
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation
Overall: I have passed on a lot of Sweetwater beers over the last few years but this one is a good effort; it lacks the finesse of some of the better DIPAs out there but it is certainly a challenger
