This beer is consistent, available, and delicious. I believe it is one of the most well balanced year round IPAs. Grapefruit, pine, and crackers. Pairs well with food. It's availability and popularity make this beer underrated.

This is kind of a straightforward IPA but I mean that in terms of all the good things about the style. Nice hop punch but nothing overpowering. Some pine qualities, some light citrus but really not overly bitter. Looks great in the glass, a nice deep amber with a just off white head that leaves an interesting splotchy foam cap on top. A touch of dankness but again it's on the tame side. This is a good beer for when you want an IPA but don't want to dissect it or have to think a whole lot about it. Just a really well done "down the middle" brew.

The smell is malty sweet with some light earthy hops. The taste Is pretty balanced and average. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and it has a sweet aftertaste. nb

Look: Amber and a hint of haze... really, just the right color for my IPA tastes.
Smell: Nothing too strong. Mild hops, some pine.
Taste: Are you sure this isn't a lager? I mean seriously. Tastes almost like a hopped up Yuengling to me.
Feel: Very light; prickly... again, reminds me of a lager or a pilsner even.

A - Slightly than a fingers worth of late to develop lush feathery light khaki colored froth comprised of medium sized bubbles... Solid retention... The color is a deep rich mix of caramel and copper... Light carbonation which moves at a moderate pace... Some lacing clings to the sides of the glass...

S - Big tropical fruitiness to start... This is followed by more tropical fruit goodness... Finally there is some more sweet tropical fruit goodness... A light malt base lingers beneath the surface... This is a one trick pony but damn it's a good trick... I would make an air freshener out of this stuff I could...

T - A slight kiss of sweet tropical fruitiness alluded to by the nose to start... The fades rather quickly as the hops take on a distinctively more earthy and piney nature on the palate... The malt base is in the form of rich buttery biscuit...

M - Medium bodied... Sturdy... Even and consistent... A touch of lushness... Limited carbonation... Coats the mouth evenly and fully... Rather enjoyable...

D - A rock solid American IPA... The aroma is the best part, but the other facets are solidly above average as well... A welcome addition to the Central PA beer scene that I'll enjoy with some regularity...

S: soapy for a moment, then floral and tropical fruit hops;

T: lightly bitter orange from start to finish; slightly metallic with mild bitterness on the finish;

M: medium bodied; moderate carbonation; moderately dry finish;

O: flavor didn't make me think of an IPA;

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into 6-oz sampling glass. L-Translucent light caramel color with tight white foam head. S/T- In my book, this is what an IPA should be. Hoppy aroma, not overpowering, balanced on the palate with a solid malt backbone and a pleasantly bitter and resiny finish. This sample was part of a Craft Beer Club shipment that was shared by some friends. Glad I got to try it, will look for it again.

Clear, deep golden body under a coupla fingers of ivory foam. Citrus with pine undercurrents waft to the nose, followed on the sip by more of the same. Juicy, big bouncy character, full and round and softly sweet. Bitterness is resinous and gentle. Feel is soft and smooth. A super nice IPA.

I do not understand the strong ratings for this one. There is not a lot of there, there -- mouth feel, flavor, nothing offensive but entirely "eh". Won't get again.

I bought this because of its high rating on BA. Was expecting a hoppy bitter IPA, so I was disappointed at first because this beer poured into a tulip and the color of a copper dark orange with a white thick head threw me off, as did the aroma and the taste. Smells and tastes like a juicy wet/fresh hopped pale ale like Neshaminy Creeks JAWN or Victorys Harvest and Headwaters ales. Was disappointed because I wanted a true hoppy bitter dank IPA. But on 2nd tasting, this is a very good tasting beer, just wish they recatagorize it as not an IPA. Mouth feel is juicy and refreshing and overall now that I know what it is, I will get again if I can't find JAWN.

12 oz bottle. Pours orange with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of citrusy hops, orange marmalade and bready malt. Body is medium and tangy. Citrusy hops, caramel malt and fresh oranges fill the mouth. Finish is long, dry, and moderately hoppy. Excellent brew.

Had this beer on tap at a local place on a visit to Atlanta. Had never heard of Sweetwater and I wasn't hopeful about an IPA from Atlanta, but this is an all around solid IPA. Nice broad range of hop smells and flavors.

I was fairly wowed by this ipa. One of the most refreshing I've had in a while. The hops balance perfectly and the alcohol is well hidden. This came in my beer of the month box but I'm gojng to make it a summertime staple.

Orange-tinted amber with a finger of white head. Juicy citrus aroma that carries to the taste, balanced with moderate hop bitterness. Medium bodied with strong carbonation. Not bad.

My time trying anything from this brewery and it's a strong showing. The hop profile is very full and strong. Lively citrus flavors coat the palate. Reminds me quite a big of Ballast Point's Sculpin IPA, now that I think of it. The alcohol content is on the lower side for something this flavorful. I'm definitely going to try other stuff from this brewery.

Pine on the smell and dank on the taste. Never would have guessed this was from Atlanta. I read some of the other reviews and my beer seems much dankier than what others have noted, but either way I thought it was a great beer. Very balanced overall.

Bottle best enjoyed by 11/26/15. Poured into New Belgium snifter. Amber orangish color with with one inch head that recedes to a thin layer that remains till last sip. Smell is orgasmic with pine, mango, pineapple, and lemon. Taste just as good with the same flavors but dominated by pine and citrus. One of the first beers that got me into ipas and just as good as the first time. I think with the newer better beers in Georgia (Tropicalia, Didjits, etc) this has become an underappreciated beer. Great stuff. Cheers!

Best by 11/26/2015. Part of the Tackle Box. Hazy light amber. Two finger white head. Decent head retention.

Nice pine and grapefruit hop notes with a slightly sweet and bready malt backbone. Some residual sweetness. Has a West Coast feel to it with the hop bite. Medium-bodied and balanced. Good carbonation.

A good IPA. With the market saturation, I probably would have continued to overlook this as a six pack purchase. However, the Tackle Box had a nice selection in it, and I have been pleasantly surprised thus far with the lineup in general. But, back to this IPA, it's quite good and might be one that falls under the radar due to so many choices. But if you like IPAs and it is an option, give it a try.

Pours a orangish-amber color with a 2 finger off-white head. Head is a bit fluffy and is pretty long lasting. Lots of sticky lacing left behind.

Floral hops on the aroma. A bit tropical as well. Caramel underneath for balance. Grapefruit, honey and mango.

Taste is grapefruit, pineapple, and honey. Caramel malt and grass. Some vanilla at the end.

Medium body with a creamy mouth feel. Medium+ carbonation. Sweet, tropical notes linger.

Very well balanced IPA.

12 oz bottle poured into a dumb cup.

Gold with 2+ fingers of creamy white head. Slightly hazy with light carbonation.

Grapefruit zest, pine needles, and candy sugar.

Grapefruit juice and pine. Smooth malt backbone of honey and slight candy sugar. Finishes with honeydew melon.

Medium bodied, crisp, and juicy with a very light bitterness.

Wow, this is a really smooth IPA! Keeps a very juicy hop flavor with very little bitterness.

Pours dark gold with 2 finger head.
Smells of pine and orange with lemon and malt.
Taste follows smell with pine first then the orange and lemon with the malt blended in.
Feels right. Not thin.
Overall a great beer. Will get more on next visit to friends in Alabama. Can't wait.

When this beer is fresh, I have a hard time finding a better regularly available IPA. I have had bottles with the same born on date taste completely different. Always amazing when I've had it on tap.

12oz can, BIEB 09/06/15
A - hazed brilliany amber body with a tall and rocky ivory head that holds great retention
S - huge citrusy grapefruit & orange aroma with pine, caramel malt and bready malt
T - hop forward with a bold malt backbone: pine, grapefruit & orange rind and pith, some spicy hop notes in there also, caramel and bread try to balance out the bitterness with some needed sweetness
M - medium body, prickles the tongue, moderate carbonation, finishes bitter with pine, citrus zest, and spicy hop lingering
O - this exceeded expectations! Really nice with flavors I enjoy in my IPA!
