Nice and crisp. Blueberry isn't wicked overwhelming and has just the right bit of tartness to be intriguing outside of the blueberry taste. Smell is somewhat missing, as there's just a hint of aroma of blueberry on the nose in front of a nearly nonexistent, faint, no - strike that; there is no other smell. Appearance is. Pretty pedestrian as well, with virtually no lacing or head sitting on a mundane gold liquid with a few overachieving bubbles trying to escape. But, for what it is from a style standpoint, it is pretty good and could serve well as a BMC alternative at summer parties.

Press a brilliant golden straw with a foamy white head that dissipates somewhat quickly.

Real blueberries dominate the aroma, with lightly bready malt underlying.

Flavor is more cracker-malt dominant, refreshing, with blueberry sweetness appearing briefly, and finishing slightly tart/fruity. A beer with fruit, rather than vice versa.

Body is fairly light, with moderate to a touch high carbonation. It's crisp.

Better than most fruit beers, in that it still tastes like a decent brew. Good aroma.

Poured a clear and effervescent medium gold with a fizzy white head. The head has minimal retention but does leave a modicum of lacing. There is a pronounced blueberry aroma with a slight hint of the wheat beer base. The taste follows closely with distinct blueberry notes and mild wheat beer characteristics. On the plus side, the blueberries aren't overwhelming or cloying. There is a slight carbonation feel but it doesn't go too far towards fizzy. Not a bad beer and if you like fruit-based flavors in your beer this might be right up your alley. I was hoping for more wheat beer flavors than this provided.

Poured from the bottle into a wheat ale glass.

A nice brass to very light bronze colored body, super crystal clear and nice thin rising carbonation. Head is only about a finger and a fluffy consistency, off white in color and looks ok otherwise.

A real nice fruit character, very noticeable blueberry but also some off putting aromas. A bit of bile, acrid grain senses, but for the most part passable it seems.

A very surprising light palate and much more tolerable and enjoyable than the nose would indicate. Hints of light crisp malt, and a quick carbonation feeling on the finish with tight bubbles on the tip of the tongue. Nice fruit blueberry, doesn't come off cloying, sickly sweet, syrupy, or horrifically tart either. Good clean finish with some almost pils like crisp dry character, but not much chewy wheat backbone.

Overall though pretty tasty for a fruit brew.

Clear golden color bright white 1/2 finger head. Smells of blueberries, some fruity pebble notes from the wheat, a bit of graininess.

Blueberry flavors a little light, but surprisingly complex for a light fruity blueberry (not that it's a complex beer, just for what it is it's complex) Some lightly kilned grains up front with a touch of blueberry sweetness swept up by a bit of sweet wheat and balanced by a dry cereal graininess. Dry finish but with some lingering blueberry sweetness. Medium bodied good briskness. Not bad for a fruit beer.

Refreshing with a bit more to it than fruit

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass date on the bottle says 12/11/13

A: Dark straw with a weak light head.

S: Strong blueberry and wheat smell, it smells exactly like a blueberry muffin.

T: The taste is the same as the smell. There is a metallic after taste but its not to bad.

M: This has a fizzy mouthfeel with a lot of carbonation. It is an easy drinking beer though.

O: I would say this beer is worth a try. I wouldn't really want to drink a 6 pack but its a nice beer. I pick it up every now and then when I have a craving for it.

At Atlanta airport:

Into a pint glass:

A: slightly clear golden colored body with a half finger white foamy head that quickly dissipates and leaves a slight lacing around the sides of the glass

S: strong notes of blueberry up front, slight wheaty/bready background

T: pretty much the same, a combined blueberrywheat aftertaste, sticky sweet finish

M: light, sessionable, carbonation is good for a blueberry beer and is good for me

O: good session blueberry beer, probably be better if I was overlooking a setting sun in some fishin' pond in Georgia but hey, I'd have it again

SweetWater Blue has a thin, white head, which fizzes right away, no lacing, and a mostly clear, golden appearance, with an enormous amount of white powdery sediment suspended throughout. The aroma is of blueberries, with an underlying bread smell. Taste is of blueberry, white bread, sweetness, and a slight bitter note. Mouthfeel is medium, and SweetWater Blue finishes semi-dry, refreshing, fruity, and highly drinkable. Overall, this is good.

Appearance: Poured a golden straw like color into a standard pint glass. Two fingers of white head fade quickly, no apparent lacing.

Smell: Definitely some blueberry but more artificial blueberry than say...blueberry pie. A bit of corn and malt in there as well.

Taste: Blueberry, a slight tartness and what you'd expect in a fruit beer. Still a bit too much lager flavor for me but this isn't bad.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a some off flavors, decent carbonation. Somewhat refreshing I suppose.

Overall: Eh, I used to like fruit beers back in the day, this one isn't great but not terrible. Not something I'd drink too often but worth a try if you like fruit beers.

On tap at Canoe at Sweetwater sponsored CRK event.
Slightly hazy deep golden with very little head.
Fine aroma features blueberry: think fine fresh preserves. These is some wheat and barley malt base evident too.
The flavor has good balance, with prominent blueberry but a solid malt base. Only lightly sweet due to a good bit of tartness.
Medium-light body with near medium carbonation.
O: recommended

Crystal light yellow coloring with a wispy light and loose head.

The scent is primarily blueberry but a blueberry muffin aroma seems more dominant. A combination of the blueberry and grain must create this illusion.

The taste is a light blueberry flavor with an even lighter barley malt. The taste is incredibly soft and needs some amperage.

The feel is bubbly, airy and light, with mildly refreshing effervescence.

I'm one to score fruit beers relatively high as I tend to enjoy them but this simply fell short in most categories.

The smell is musty, blueberries, sweet.

The taste is grainy and slight blueberry.

The mouthfeel is light with quite high carbonation.

This isn't terrible but it's pretty average. Tastes like a lager with some blueberry thrown in.

12 FL. OZ. bottle
Served in a nonic pint glass

A - It is golden with a chill haze. It had virtually no head. The little bit that was there was white.

S - At first I got a soapy smell. That smell seemed to dissipate. Then I noticed fresh blueberries.

T - The blueberry taste is not in your face. It is subtle. It tastes like a lager with blueberry flavoring.

M - Moderate

O - It is not a great blueberry beer. The base beer taste is too prominent and bland.

Purchased a 12 oz bottle at a Publix in Macon, GA. Sure can taste the blueberries, but it's just too sweet in the wrong way. It's not a complex sweet that you might get from a lambic or even from other fruit beers. It's just sugar. In my extremely limited experience, SweetWater beers seem to be sweeter than is standard for the style (e.g., the 420)--it must be the name.

12 ounce bottle -> snifter

A - pours up a medium gold with a very thin one half finger head, no retention, and no lacing.

S - Nice subtle aroma of fruit.

T - This is a mild indistinctive beer that is notable only for a nice pleasant blueberry tasting finish, not overpowering though.

M - about average

O - Pleasant easy to drink beer that I wouldn't turn down if offered, but I doubt I'd choose it over legions of other offerings.

A: The beer is clear pale yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that died down, leaving a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of blueberries are present in the nose.
T: The taste very much follows the smell and has lots of flavors of blueberries and doesn't seem artificial. No sweetness is detectable.
M: It feels light-bodied (but not watery) on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an easy to drink beer that would probably be appealing to the masses.

This pours a clear, light amber color with a slight, off-white head. The aroma is very grassy and grainy. The taste is fairly decent for its style as it’s light in body and flavor. It’s perhaps a little thinner than I would like, but than again it is made for a warmer climate than where I am from. Hints of grass and grains in the flavor. Finishes pretty clean with just the slightest hint of blueberries.

A: Pours a lightly hazy medium golden yellow in color with some moderate amounts of visible carbonation and some light golden yellow highlights. The beer has a finger tall frothy white head that slowly reduces to a thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of wheat with some slightly stronger aromas of blueberry.

T: Upfront there are light flavors of wheat with some slightly stronger flavors of blueberry - the blueberry tastes fairly natural and there is not a lot of artificial sweetness.

M: Slightly heavier than light bodied with moderate to heavy amounts of carbonation. Smooth and slightly creamy.

O: Would probably be better enjoyed on a hot summer afternoon while out in the sun but it is definitely an enjoyable blueberry beer with very little artificial flavors or aroma. This is easy to drink and could easily be sessionable. Pretty refreshing.

Received as an extra in a trade and poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a light, crystal clear golden hue. A hard pour results in a one finger white head that fades to leave a thin halo and light wisps.

S - Nice wheat notes with good blueberry skin. Very aromatic and inviting.

T - Like the nose, more of the wheat qualities and aspects come through followed by nice blueberry notes. Tasty blueberry notes here. Very clean.

M - Good carbonation here, very crisp clean and refreshing.

O - Overall, not a bad blueberry beer. Actually grew on me as I drank it. Quite enjoyable and would be excellent on a summer day.

Sweetwater Blue from Atlanta, GA. Says 4.6% ABV on bottle, not 4.9%.

This beer has a great blueberry smell and an awesome blueberry wheat taste. Not as sweet as you'd expect with the smell (in a good way). Lots of carbonation. Very refreshing, especially in the summer. One of my favorites.

I drank it out of a bottle from Food City in Knoxville, TN on 12/22/2012 from a create your own 6-pack.

Poured into a Ninkasi Brewing pint glass. Label says Best if Enjoyed by: 12/28/12

A- Pours a light golden color with a 1/2 inch white head that soon fizzes away to a thin ring around the edge of the glass and scattered light surface foam. Lacing is non-resilient.

S- Nice blueberry aroma that's not too powerful with some mild wheat smell in the back.

T- The blueberry isn't as pronounced in the flavor but that's not a problem since it allows the wheat characteristic more room to shine. There is a bit of a weakness in the aftertaste as more sips are taken.

M- Light, crisp, actually borderline watery. Medium-low carbonation.

O- Not a great beer, all things considered, but I prefer it to Sea Dog Blue since the blueberry flavor doesn't overpower. Better on draft.

Reviewed from notes. Poured from 12 oz. bottle into CCB pint glass.

A: Pours a very clear, light gold with good visible carbonation and a small white head.

S: Cloying, artificial berry aroma with some pilsner malts.

T: The berry flavor (that still gives a very artificial impression) overlays the light & pilsner malts. Clean, lager-like in finish.

M: Light mouthfeel, not very carbonated. No alcohol presence.

O: Not offensive, but berry flavor doesn't taste natural at all. I won't be having another.

Enjoy by 11/19/12

A= Pours a nice hazy yellow color with a few chunky pieces floating in it. The head is a pure white color and rises to a quarter finger before falling to a skin on top of the glass. LIttle lacing is left behind.

S= Smells like candy blueberry. It reminds me of candy. That's about it as far as aroma goes. No wheat or hop aroma comes through just a lot of candy blueberry.

T= The flavor has a little more of a wheat character to it. The candy blueberry comes through just as it did in the nose making this a rather unique and tasty fruit beer. The candy isn't overdone making it too sweet.

M= The mouth is about perfect.

O= This is a great beer I think. A fruit beer is a fruit beer. Yeah it tastes a little artificial but it's not overly sweet and candy like. The wheat comes through in the flavor and it's freaking blueberry! This is worth drinking again and again in the summer.

Freshness: Best by 09-27-2012
Packaging: 12 oz. brown bottle, pry-cap
Glassware: Signature glass
Purchased: Single from Kroger

Pours a clear, golden color and looks kind of like apple juice. The head is about a finger high and fades fairly quickly. A little amount of lacing stays on the glass.

Aromas are fruity and sweet and do smell of blueberries. I get a bit of earthiness as well.

Taste is also sweet and of blueberry fruits. No bitterness in this one. Carbonation is on the high end with a crisp mouthfeel. The body is fairly light. Aftertaste is more of the blueberry flavor.

This is a simple and refreshing fruit beer that would make a good gateway beer for someone new to craft brews.
