on-tap at Fat Frogg, 16oz tumbler

Appearance is a clear dark golden color that features a very small white head that completely disappears about halfway through. No lacing at all, very boring appearance. Smell is cooked (baked) blueberries with a hint of pale malt in the back. Taste is of sweet and bready blueberries, again the blueberries come off as cooked. Not a bad taste, the blueberries come out nice and strong, no hops detected. Mouthfeel is medium light and medium low carb, very mellow.

This is much better than I thought it would be and better than the other fruit beer I have had (#9). Ultimately this beer is a bit too sweet and could use a hint of hops to help the finish and make it taste more like a beer. The taste is most akin to a blueberry cobbler, definitely not fresh blueberries.

A - Looks like a beer.... can we get past this part now? Not much cling on the glass and a light head that dissipates quickly
S - slightly metallic smell to an otherwise pretty standard filtered wheat ale. One of those beers you are best to drink without a hearty sniff
T - Pleasantly subtle blueberry taste amended to a decent filtered wheat. Think Abita's Purple Haze with blueberry instead of raspberry.
M - rich, highly carbonated ale that dances a bit on your tongue but washes down clean. Not out of the ordinary for a filtered wheat.
O - While this is otherwise a standard filtered wheat, as I mentioned several times above, the addition of the hint of blueberries makes this Pacific Northwesterner miss the fresh berries found on high mountain hillsides. It's clean, strange, and smooth, making this otherwise average concoction just slightly above the norm.

Appearance: It had a light gold colored body with about two fingers of very white head. Great lacing.

Smell: It had a d bit of an overwhelming blueberry smell. It was very sweet.

Taste: The taste is not as strong as the aroma but is still pretty strong. It is very berry like with a drier hoppy finish.

Mouthfeel: It mainly thin with some crisp carbonation bite.

Overall: It was alright. I thought that it was great for the style.

Enjoyed on-tap @ the Mellow Mushroom in Asheville, NC for $4. Tapped from an unknown tap handle (ordered from table) & received in a 16oz Pint Glass.

Aroma- The aroma is made up of fake blueberries (either in a smoothie or oatmeal. Blended.). Has a ton of wheat and grain in the nose as well.

Appearance- Received with a less than .5 finger head and dies immediately after the first sip. Has a golden colored body that is clear. Leaves suds behind.

Flavor- Very appropriate wheat taste but then what? Smooth and a dry finish. Makes me want to drink one of SweetWater's "bigger" brews.

Mouthfeel- Light Bodied, Light-Medium Carbonation, and has an extreme wheaty finish.

Overall Impression- Hearing it was a brew with blueberries within, thought it would be refreshing and worth it. It was, just nothing I would drink back to back. Enjoyed once and will check it off my list. Wouldn't go out of my way for it and like I said, MANY more brews from SweetWater that will keep your standards high!
