Poured from a 12-oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Rich amber-brown color, just right for this style. Very appetizing two-finger head and a good amount of lacing.
Smell: Smells like your typical brown ale. Biscuity malts at the forefront, but there's a sharp and slightly unpleasant scent too. I don't know if it's hops; it strikes me as oddly metallic. (Yeah, I know, what does metal smell like anyway?)
Taste: Refreshing, fairly light, and malty. Yes, this is basically bread in a bottle. It's not heavy, but it's not watery either. Faint hops round out the flavor and give the beer a rather clean taste. Good example of the brown ale style.
Mouthfeel: Eh? A little above average maybe, but it doesn't jump out at me. As I said in the 'Taste' section, it feels 'clean', meaning that it doesn't coat my mouth after I drink it, which can be either good or bad... or a little of neither, in this case.
Drinkability: High. I could enjoy several of these in a sitting, no problem. This is a great 'coming in from the heat' beer. If you've been out in the warmth all day and you come home to the air conditioner, this is a refreshing beer.
This beer is another point in Sweetwater's favor. Well done, guys!
