This beer pours a murky brown with a tinge of orange and very little head from ma somewhat heavy pour. Carbonation looks very present but moderate in speed. The smell is sugary malt with a slight spice edge and with a bit of orange scent and dark fruits. The aroma is restrained, not too scented.

The taste is very sweet, brown sugar with coriander, pitted fruit with cake, many sweet flavors in this with less heat than expected. Complex malt underlies and supports the sugary top flavors. I detect wheat malt among many others. Over all this is a great Quad compared to many I've had in its drinkability. The flavor is overall less Belgian than many while retaining many of the positive qualities.

Poured from a 2010 22 ounce that had been cellared in a beer fridge for 7ish years.
I drank one of these when it was fresh years ago and the flavors have definitely mellowed and muddled over time. A tasty beer although not the best from this style that I have had. A relatively thick mouthfeel. Dark brown in color. Flavors include burnt sugar

On tap at the brewery.
Pours with a fine looking red-brown body topped by a decent head.
Rich and moderately complex aroma features wood and dark dried fruits.
Dark fruits in the flavor, as expected, but with a touch more hop flavor and bitterness than expected. Improved with some warming.

2010 22 oz bottle.
Pours a dark brownish amber with a thin film of light tan head and a thick ring of small bubbles. Sweet nose of plum, grape, bubblegum, candi sugar and light yeast. Medium thick body with light carbonation and a clean fruity finish. Plum, dark fruit skin, green apple and sweet chocolate dominate flavor. Not quite as complex as the best of the style, and getting a little muddled with age, but still enjoyable.

22oz bomber into a tulip - thank you santa!
A: Pours a muddy brown with a decent light tan head that fades to a ring and leaves a tiny bit of lacing on the glass.
S: The nose is immediately sweet and fruity with nice notes of cherries, prunes, toffee, and a touch of grape. It's pretty in your face and lets you know what's to come.
T: The taste starts with the fruity elements in the form of grapes, cherries, figs, and moves to the estery yeast flavors from the belgian yeast.
M: The feel is medium bodied and creamy. The booze is a bit evident here as well which knocks the score down a bit.
O: This has potential but everything is a bit over the top. I bet after a few years this thing would be damn good. Should have sat on it longer...
