Cask at the brewery during International IPA Day.
Pours a hazy golden-copper color with a slightly off-white head that leaves decent lacing.
Smells of crisp pale malts with equal amounts of citrus hop and spicy peppercorns. Also present are mild amounts of floral hops.
Tastes similar to how it smells, although the peppercorns aren’t quite as robust as the smell would intimate. Smooth pale malts up front are joined quickly by citrus hops with hints of heavier earthy hops. Midway through, slight spicy peppercorn flavors come into play, fading out into a moderately bitter ending. Mouthfeel is good, with smooth carbonation.
Overall this was another interesting treatment that delivered in the aroma department but didn’t quite come through elsewhere. Still, very interesting and worth a shot.
