A- Pours a brassy golden color with a thin finger cap of white head. Ok retention with a smidge of lacing.
S- Subtle nose. floral citrus hops blend with a biscuity malt. Notes of rye and rustic earth tones come out as well.
T- Citrus hop flavors meld with more aspirin like quality up front. Biscuity malt hits mid palate with a mild surge of rye pepperiness. medium hop bitterness on the finish with a floral character lingering in the aftertaste.
MF- Cool mouthfeel, the rye lent a sort of gummy texture to it. Light bodied with a rather active carbonation.
D- decent drinkability.
Overall a very average IPA that could use a jolt of Humulus Lupulus in my opinion.

From notes 10/16/12: ours a clear orange amber producing 2 fingers of off-white,soap foam frothy, moderately lasting head that leaves super rings and webs of thick lace. Aroma is a pungent and spicy rye/hop balance with floral, pine and grapefruit notes mixed with rye spice, a little caramel and a hint of biscuit. Taste is big rye spiciness, pine resin and grapefruit rind/pith bitterness with a hint of herbal/sage, malty biscuit and caramel. Finish is dry and nicely bitter and brings astringency to the aftertaste. An excellent and different addition to the rye IPA brews being introduced.

Yet another dry IPA from Sweetwater. Not bad.
It opens foamy, with big bubbles and more continuously flowing from the bottom. The aroma is a strongish hoppy smell with rye malts also very pronounced. The taste does not quite live up to the terrific aroma. It is fairly dry and bitter, with the malts barely being evident. The aftertaste is even more bitter.
Overall, this is an interesting AIPA. It would be better if it were a little bigger (meltier) but it was very inexpensive and is a pretty nice drink. Recommended if you happen to stumble on one, but don't go out of your way for it.
