12oz bottle into a pint glass
Enjoy by: 10/14/13

A: Crystal clear golden amber with 1.5 fingers width of off-white head. Fair retention, good amount of honeycomb lacing.

S: Sweet malts, citrus pith, faint pine.

T: Follows the nose with citrus rind and sweet malts. I also get some herbaceous notes and some rye spiciness.

M/D: Full bodied, appropriate carbonation, average drinkability.

O: Good, not great. Worth a try though.

I poured this beer into a glass, it has a burnt orange color body with just a thin head that quickly dissapears to a thin lace. The smell has a citrus aroma with some rye also. The taste has a citrus, and pepper flavor followed by a hint of rye and a bitterness on the back of the tongue. The mouthfeel is good and overall a good rye ipa.

Pours a cloudy amber, with a bright white head.

The smell is tropical fruits and spicy rye.

The taste is citrus, juicy hops, finishing up peppery and spicy from the rye. There's a little bitterness in the finish but not much.

The mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation.

This was a very good rye ipa, the ipa part is very tasty and the rye is used very well.

Poured from bottle into a pint glass

Appearance – The beer pours a golden-copper color with a one finger billowy white head. The head fades slowly overtime leaving patches of lace on the sides of the glass.

Smell – The aroma of the sweeter overall with notes of tropical fruits as well as a bit of caramel. Along with these smells so too comes a little bit of a rye bread aroma and some hoppy smells of a pine and grapefruit nature.

Taste – The taste begins with some rye flavors upfront that are matched by a bit of pine. While the taste starts out slightly drier with only a lighter flavor of tropical fruits it grows stronger in these tastes as well as getting a caramel sweetness to accompany the sweeter fruit at the end. While the sweet gets stronger as the taste moves on, so too does the hop with more pine and grapefruit coming to the tongue. Some peppery flavors and a bit of a floral flavor work their way into the taste throughout, with the combination of flavors leaving a rather nicely balanced flavor to linger on the tongue.

Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the average to slightly creamier side with a carbonation level that is rather average. The combination is rather nice for highlighting the lighter rye and spice flavor, all while keeping it very easy drinking.

Overall – This was a rather enjoyable brew overall and one I will certainly go to again.

Pours a brilliant golden copper with a frothy cream head that slowly dissipates, leaving sheets of thin lacing.

Fresh cut grass, resin, pine, muted citrus, and floral hops form the initial aroma, with pine eventually dominating. Reminiscent of a Christmas tree. Rye is almost lost in the hops.

Flavor reveals underpinnings of muted tropical fruit, with mango and papaya meeting resin, pine, and rye mid palate, carrying into a bitter, resiny, rye dominated finish. Malt flavor is slightly sweet, and fairly subdued.

Body is a touch light, with moderate carbonation, an astringent bite, and a fair bit of alcohol warmth.

Good amount of hop flavoring, with rye eventually winning out. A little more bitter than I prefer. And I'm not a big rye fan.

The color is golden to amber or copper with a light white head that was fizzy yet thick.

The scent is light piney hops with some lemongrass, tea leaves, malt and a hint of rye.

The taste is a punch in the face, rye fight. The rye is definitely at the forefront and then it settles in with a finish of hops. The hops are smooth and subtle with very little bitterness. The feel is easy with moderate carbonation .

Overall, this is well done and tastier than the traditional IPA. I liked it quite well.
