22 ounce bomber poured into snifter

A - medium gold, very clear with a one finger head, not much lacing, and not much retention.

S - grasses, bread, alcohol, and some citrus notes.

T - This beer has a strong malt backbone, not quite as sweet as might be expected. Finish is both bitter and dry with a powerful hop presence. For a beer as big as this, the alcohol is well hidden.

M - decent carbonation, clean with not much aftertaste

O - I enjoyed this one much more than I thought I would.

Poured into my Great Lakes 25th Anniversary bruges hybrid tulip...

A. Pours an orangey gold with a half finger of white, bubbly head. Head quickly settles in and forms a small ring around the brew.

S. Pear juice, grape skin, alcohol esters, fresh bread.

T. Grape skin, apple, biscuit, some earthy and bitter hops, yeast.

M. Sweet upfront with a high and dry finish. A bit of a sweet/bitter clash.

O. Solid BSPA, though flavors clash a bit. A little too much citrus sweetness with a somewhat thin, metallic bitterness on the finish. Decent attempt, just doesn't come together as well as the best in its class.

22 ounce bottle - $5.98 at Sherlock's in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, light golden-orange body with a medium-sized, wispy, white head. Not much lacing.

Smell: Resinous spice with some upfront stingy alcohol wafts. Bready malts with a lightly sweet-scented sugar crust. Tropical fruit, citrus, a sprinkling of ground aspirin.

Taste: Bready malted barley, a sliver of pils, and some light brown sugar sweetness. Grapefruit, papaya, tangerine. Resinous and at the same time some peppy phenols, as well as some sting of the alcohol. Moderate bitterness. Sweetness drops out as the bitterness and spicy, alcoholic, fruitiness remains on the finish.

Mouthfeel: A little beyond medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.

Overall: It's not as pesky as forgetting an online password.
