Came out with a lot of sediment and haze all around the beer. Color was orangish. Head was small. Aroma was nice, plenty of mangoey tropical fruit aroma to it, really nailed it in that department, despite having really good hop aroma, they kept the ibu at 79.

Taste, still kept up with the hop mouthfeel as the primary flavor, versus grating bitterness. This had a strong, yet delicate hop touch, I wouldn't be surprised if this had Nelson hops in a small amount here. Amarillos as well. Not just tropical fruit flavor here, plenty of tangerine in here.

One of my favorites at the festival. I love Lake Berryessa, now there's another reason to head out that way. Gonna look to do some camping this summer out this way and tick the hell out of this brewery.

Pours a half finger of head on a hazy straw colored body.
The aroma is malty and grapefruit.
The taste is an interesting, but good mixture of pineapple, pine and grapefruit bitterness. It has a long strong bitter finish.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
It's a pretty great IPA.

Whilst I am not a fan of many West-Coat IPAs, I feel that I have to mention this as being one of the few that does more than pass muster. It's not a palate-killer, but a crisp and clean pint with a twisty citrus nose, decent body and a good head on it.

I've had it fresh from the tap, and it's almost a perfect beer for a hot, tired body. Someone mysteriously delivered a growler to my 'fridge, and I may well report on that later.

On tap at Zeitgeist in SF.

Pours a bright and light gold color with some haze and a decent white head.

Aromas are nice. Light hard candies, mild cream, and lots of fresh hops. Notes of pine resin, bright fresh grapefruit, and a nice floral character.

Taste is a lot like the nose, and while I sipped this I kept thinking how this was similar to Pliny The Elder. Light cracker, cream, and hard candy sweetness up front. It's subtle, but it balances out the blast of hops on the finish, which are bitter and crisp with grapefruit, fresh floral, and pine resin notes.

Mouthfeel is smooth, crisp, with full body.

Overall, a very nice DIPA. And I'm glad I finally got to try something from Berryessa. Impressive first beer from them.

Pours a golden amber with a dense and greasy off white head. Rings of lace left after each sip. Huge juicy citrus and tropical fruit nose. Slight mint. Taste follows the nose. Very juicy, very fresh and delicious. Medium-full body, smooth and easy carbonation. Sweet finish, not very bitter. Rivals the famous greats.

Just had it on tap at The Beer Hall in San Fransisco and it really stands up to a lot of great beers that I have been drinking lately, for anyone that loves IPA's find this beer!

A- pours a deep orangey hue with a chunky, off white head.

S- hop forward, pine, sweet malty scent

T - lots of pine up front rounded out by caramel notes and a lingering residual bitterness.

M - fairly thick and slightly less carbonated than I would have liked.

D - very impressive brew from a brewery that is new to me. Will definitely have to seek out more of their beer.
