Bulldog - uptown - the original. Visited two nights in a row – that’s how much I liked it. Sat at the bar both nights. They had a Surly tap takeover on Monday followed by Bell’s takeover on Tuesday night. Still had all of the Surly beers on Tuesday – wow! This location will be a “go to” whenever I am in town.
A – Noisy. Great rowdy atmosphere for Monday night football/trivia night. A drinking bar. Some small tables available. Bar is small as well. It can be dark and crowded. I could see how someone might get shut out if they arrived too late. Definitely beer geeks about. Met the Bell's rep, got some SWAG and talked ABC laws and distribution.
Q – Surly Darkness served too cold and in the wrong glass, but a big pour. Looks like good turnover on the kegs.
S – Bartender can get crazy busy, but Pete is nice, ready to chat and fairly knowledgeable about the beer he has on tap.
S – An excellent selection. 20 taps just for Bell’s and Surly, with some hard to finds, uncommons, as well as the regulars brews from both places. Also another 10 or so taps with other local and national brands. Cans and bottles as well with some Belgians, PBR, etc.
F – Do not go for the food. Had the buffalo chicken sandwich the first night and the fish and chips (fries) the second night. I’ve certainly had worse so if you are hungry eat, but it seems to me that big bags of frozen food are a common sight in this kitchen.
V – None of the Surly or Bell’s beers (even Darkness and Black Note) were more than $6 for a big pour. Some of this had to do with simplifying things for a busy night, but a great value.

A- A fairly dark bar with tables up front, some booths and a long u shaped bar and a few tables in back with a few tvs with sports on. Props for having Golden Tee too.
Q- Beer is fresh, served in proper glassware, everything clean and professional.
Ser- The service is what makes this place for me. Eric, one of the bartenders who is almost always there, knows a good deal about the beers he has and is super friendly. All servers and bartenders and friendly and efficient.
Sel- Their tap list is lager heavy, but has a good variety. Lagunitas Pils, Rogue Dead Guy, Abita Select, North Coast Scrimshaw, Great Lakes Dortmunder, and several others. Young's Double Chocolate too. They bring in some rotating beers (Ommegang Aphrodite, Bell's Quinannan Falls, Delirium Tremens are some recent ones) and some seasonals (They had several Octoberfests in the fall). Bottle list is so-so, but at least they have two hearted.
F- They have a cajun theme going. All their sandwiches are pretty good. The cuban is one of my favorites. They have a special burger each week and they are usually in the upper level of burgers I've had. Really good chicken wings as well. Oh and the sweet potato fries are always good.
Reasonable prices (4-6 bucks a beer, 9-10 for sandwiches). A good neighborhood bar with good service, good good, and a pretty good tap list.
